I just watched this and really loved it. Although just coming from an era where people actually believed if they made a quality project they didn't need to pander to the Disney crowd or certain demographics or based on some product of weird property. So it may just be that I'm not used to people trying at all. But yeah, as a kid I just remember hating the look of Peter MacNicol as well and thinking he looked like he was 40.
