Oh boy today is the day of the after show

Bryan - Late Night Paper Cuts

I really found the blue filter over the theatrical cut to be really distracting. Partially, just because the images were too dark. I will be interested to hear what you thought of the director's cut.

Harley Saxby

Hey Joe, can you recommend any good pulp/detective books? Love your youtube channel and been digging the podcast.

Lux Anatis

No one here will ever know my identity, so let me shed a little light on something you two seemed a little mystified by. The appeal, at least to me, of the dominatrix is more in the sexual humiliation and exchange of power. Actual sexual violence can indeed be fun, but the way it's portrayed in this movie is really over the top. What stood out to me about Lucy Liu's character is that she seems to actually be a sadist who's found her niche rather than playing a role in need casting. I don't think that kind of woman actually exists. Anyway, I enjoyed Payback even though it's not exactly my kind of movie, and I think it suffered mostly from you guys having familiarized yourselves so closely with the source material and it's other interpretations.

JokersJuicyAss

I sense you're afraid of the Mail King

Lux Anatis

Are we gonna have to stage an intervention?

JokersJuicyAss

Yes but the funny, besides the films, books, and even games I'm planning on sending you two are more worth it than this hat

Ryan Lancello

Dude save your money lol, appreciate the thought tho. Plus, I never wear hats.

JokersJuicyAss

Ryan I am debating on getting a Australian Soakable Golf hat for you given your love of Australia but 1.) They're like 70 bucks, and 2.) Kinda useless in PA given it's humid hot, not the dry heat we get in AZ

JokersJuicyAss

You know who would've made a good Parker, Steven Ogg

Ryan Lancello

Oh, just wait…

Tom Goodwin

As an Australian, Ryan's accent isn't good but I've certainly heard worse

Thomas Bishop

I've only ever seen Ishtar from Elaine May, but that kind of bloated, madcap comedy is just my kryptonite. I also find it fun to recommend a super hidden gem or two on here based on what you guys are watching, and as far as Aussie movies go, I would really recommend the cult horror/comedy Body Melt and the angsty, teen movie City Loop, as well as two Noah Taylor movies: He Died With a Felafel in His Hand and the sappy-ish The Year My Voice Broke, which is probably my favorite Australian movie tbh.

This needs to be a shirt or a button

“Australia is amazing. I love Australia and I love Australians.” - Ryan Lancello 2024

JokersJuicyAss

Also Joe are you two back at your place or do I need to send you two more Anthrax CDs? Maybe even some more Posion

JokersJuicyAss

Well two actors in this episode might be in one of the movies I'm going to send you too

Luke Gordnier

One of the mark wahlberg parker adaptations came out on Netflix in 2020 entitled Spenser confidential where marky mark plays Spenser. The film was also written by Brian Helgeland.

Luke Gordnier

Can’t wait for the Ishtar episode, went though all of Elene mays film this year and can say Ishtar is ok. Not terrible but not good either, there’s a really bad scene that feels four hours long.
