Early Access: The Many Saints of Newark (2021) Review & Discussion

Being that we're both Sopranos fans, we felt compelled to check out the prequel film "The Many Saints of Newark" this past week. While we don't usually comment on newer stuff, we felt there was enough to say on the topic to warrant an episode. Here's our review and discussion before it will be out anywhere else! Obviously, there's some minor Sopranos spoilers throughout the discussion.

It's interesting how different a movie can feel when you watch it with a group, especially an enthusiastic audience. Makes you wonder with theaters going somewhat by the wayside. How much of our perceptions of art are dictated or influenced by those around us viewing the same art at the same time, together? Food for thought...

I just rewatched it. I think it cause I was watching it with friends, watching it again there was a lot of flaws. Unneeded characters and plot. Really just felt like they are trying to set up a sort of mini series, like, wouldn’t these characters be fun to see get into antics every week.

Really liked this movie, although just did a rewatch of sopranos. Its odd cause it really changes a lot of cannon. I mean the movie was great, and it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. But what do you guys think. That’s always that problem with prequels though.
