Harris was an amazing campaigner and would have been an amazing president. Hillary failed American. This time America failed.

It is going to be strange to have Sam and Matt talk about the historical precedents and roots of far right policies as they roll out of the Trump admin. I feel like I need another Project 2025 episode or an episode about the most "far right" period in US history and how the country pivoted away from that. Also I don't entirely know what to make of the fact that, a midst all of this, voter turn out was down for both candidates relative to 2020. There is a real trend towards the right in this county and winning the popular vote is meaningful but I feel like that fact that Trump got 3 million votes fewer than he did in 2020 undercuts that.

I agree with Jamelle Bouie. We know what this country is now. There is no electoral college fluke to lean on. We can stop lying to ourselves now. Edit: Apparently, this is just the take now on the left. It makes sense.

It’s hard not to fall into the “we get the leaders we deserve” sentiment. So disappointing. Especially as I watch people I love continue to vote for a monster.

Welkin Y

Disappointed but not surprised, hope everyone is doing okay today

Allen

I just don’t know what to say.

Ranger Rick

Dems should try running a good candidate -- has anyone thought of this?

Kevin Trant

I’m so angry right now. Yes, Kamala ran a shitty campaign but Trump has gone more and more fascist. What can we do to oppose fascism??

Brynn Craffey

Yeah, I can't find the coverage either!

I'm disappointed that I can't find this conversation on the Discord app. The QR code doesn't seem to lead to anything. Maybe you could provide more instructions about how to get access to the KYE Discord site.

Where’s the chat?

I would love if you guys could discuss what Harris-Walz should if they win to engage white Rural voters and attempt to meet them where they're at in attempt to diffuse these folks misguided BUT VERY dangerous thoughts and beliefs that aren't going away. Democrats need to stop running from this issue and hoping it will go away.
