Just listening to this now and Matt should know that nobody up here calls it Toe-ron-toe. It's Turonnoe - even for the people who live there

I would love Dylan to write a song about his Asia Series exhibition and how everything old can be made new again. If he turned some of his perennial and entertaining disappointment in others on himself it could shed light on his complicated relationship with his fans.

Very enjoyable discussion. Regarding Lindsey, this article may be of interest. It has some alternate lyrics from the Tulsa Dylan archives for some of the Slow Train songs, and also Groom's Still Waiting at the Altar. When He Returns: The communists might be frightenin’ you cause they only believe in man & the capitalists might be exploitin’ you cause that’s part of their plan Groom: “the communists were falling—the capitalists were crawling/the hand of God is moving—Jesus is calling” https://thedylanreview.org/2021/07/25/the-hal-lindsey-effect-bob-dylans-christian-eschatology/

I had no idea Bob was a vineyardian. My family was involved with the vineyardians in England when we were kids. I used to make up “visions” at our weekly bible study, lol. It was wild, they would talk in tongues and all that. Our neighbors were vineyardians and considered themselves Christian socialists, it was a pretty liberal environment

I once had a conservative Christian coworker who LOVED Dylan, and it was something we were able to bond over. He had been to something like 20 of his concerts over the years and made bootlegs and everything. Really nice guy, too. This episode brought back some good memories, thank you!
