Yes! I have read both the "Starting point" and the later "Turning Point" too! Both great books, but the translation is not very good and hard to understand, sadly >< can't read more than few chapters without getting tired :(
You have probably read them, but want to ask you. Have you read any of the "starting point" books from Miyazaki? It's really inspiring. I think you would have loved them.
