Here's the first animation of the month! :D I always liked Whitemane very much and been waiting for a while to finally be able to use her! Unfortunately I don't have as many ideas for as I have for Jaina but I'd so much love to use her again in future!
The Horde's invasion breaches the sanctity of the Scarlet Crusade, an unwavering faction sworn to the Light, committed to eradicating the undead and any who oppose them. Sally Whitemane, the faction's fervent leader, refuses to idly witness this sacrilege upon sacred ground. They will rise, confront, and obliterate their foes... or will they?
Progresses:
Testing more nodes of the compositor, color correction and curves. Trying lately more and more to use curves to to balance the lights rather than, light/shadow/constrast/black/whites. It gives a far more smooth transition on the contrast and overall makes it far better and cinematic.
On top of that I've been perfecting my lighting setup which so far always include a sun light with no shadows to cast volumetrics, a main light and a point light with no shadows as fill light.
Let me explain! :D
The ZM eevee lighting setup!
I use a sun light with disabled shadows. This allows me to create a very full volumetric light which covers the entire scene and create a fill light for the background and aerial perspective.
I then create a main light which usually is a strong spot light to lighten the most important parts. This will create some very strong shadows which often looks quite bad because the light bounce is supposed to lighten the shadows instead of leaving them pitch black.
So I usually add a point light on the subject, makes it big enough to cover at least the entire area lighten by the main light and then disable the shadows to create a big fill light! :D
