Moulinette August News
🕑 Added 2021-08-24 16:10:15 +0000 UTCI am taking a few minutes to present the changes of the last few weeks and the developments in progress.
- As announced in July, Moulinette Cloud has been migrated to a new infrastructure. Some additional improvements and fixes have been done in August to improve Patreon integration and general reliability.
- New website (www.moulinette.cloud) has been improved with information about what Moulinette is. It features many examples from existing creators and includes external references like the excellent tutorials from Baileywiki.
- New Moulinette Cloud features to help creators update and distribute their content : drag & drop for multiple uploads, unlimited pack size, batch change permissions, search and pagination.
- Moulinette Tiles : path of downloaded tiles is automatically copied to clipboard such you can use it elsewhere (ex : Actor/Token image). Images from the Tiles tab can now be imported as scene. This is useful for people who want to index their maps (as image) and then create scenes from them.
Local indexing of Scenes (from modules)
Not all creators are offering their maps/scenes on Moulinette Cloud and a lot of people have modules locally installed with compendiums of scenes. Thanks to a pull request from RafaΕ Lach π, Moulinette can now index all scenes from local modules. Thumbnails are not perfect (because they rely on compendiums) but you'll benefit from all the other moulinette features (search, browse, 1-click install). Example below features Milby's Maps Free.
Moulinette Cloud for users
In a recent poll, over 100 of you have expressed interest for using Moulinette Cloud for private usage. This offers the possibility to bring your own assets and benefit from Moulinette capabilities (WEBP conversion, thumbnails, preview, search, drag & drop).
This new service is now available in preview for a limited number of 5$+ supporters. Contact me on Discord if you're interested. Example below features Dice Grimorium's Noble House.
Notice : the service doesn't bring all the options that are available for creators and is still limited to images/tiles only (although scenes can be created from maps' image).
What's coming next ?
- I'm focusing on bringing more creators on Moulinette Cloud to enrich the available catalog (which has already over 40 GB of assets).
- I'm really excited to show you a new feature that will let you browse and preview assets from creators on Moulinette Cloud (which you don't support yet). If you have ever asked "Do you know a creator who offers a token of a red dragon?". Moulinette will be soon able to answer that question for you.
- I'm working on supporting "Scene Packer" on Moulinette Cloud. This should bring the possibility to have complex scenes (with notes, actors), short adventures, etc. available on Moulinette Cloud.
- And a lot of other partnerships, ideas, etc. that I keep for September ;-)

Once again, I thank you all for your support and the creators in particular for your trust !!

Thanks Youness! Btw, congrats for the new look-and-feel on The Forge. It looks really nice!

Thanks a lot! Moulinette wouldn't have been so successful if you hadn't published your tutorials promoting it in the first place.

Consider this (favorites) be done. It's a good idea. I'll put it on my TODO list.

Awesome work as always! Making Foundry even better with your amazing modules! :)

Incredible progress and really encouraging to see all of the high value things you are creating not just for GMs but for creators. I can't say enough good things about Moulinette!

That's very promising! Moulinette has been invaluable to my GMing in FVTT since I started using it. Keep up the good work. I do have a feature idea: I would like to be able to create favorites in Moulinette (Not just the sound assets, but also tokens, tiles and images) that I could get to very quickly in Moulinette (or maybe even quicker if there was a "Moulinette Favorites" button in Foundry. This button would access just the favorites very quickly (without need to index), which could just be drag-dropped into the scene, etc. The favorites would be designated from the main Moulinette window and the generic picker (maybe right-click > Make Moulifavorite). Thanks!
