I really like this show but Im afraid the 100% decision on debut team belonging to voters isnt ideal. As Im watching this after the airing of elimination episode, some really talented people are out sadly, and instead we keep comic reliefs in top spots... But when you asked why they were doing this whole K v G competitions, it seems pretty clear - its a way to "manipulate" or maybe should I say, steer, the votes. K groups have natural advantage stemming from singing in native language and most of them going through formal and strict Korean trainee regimes. Naturally they will win most, if not all, stages. So by ensuring nearly all K participants get 100k bonus votes (!) they can jump ahead some G trainees even if they are voted for more by the public. Its not a big spoiler but they announced that last safe spot, nr 52 was ahead of rank 53 by 3,5k-4k votes. Thats insanely small differences, and now think about how much 100k of a freebie is.
