The next MOVIES WITH MIKEY: NOPE!
🕑 Added 2023-01-23 19:02:27 +0000 UTCHello, all! We are hitting the ground running this year and keeping ourselves to a pretty aggressive schedule. Next up on the 'movies I absolutely have to talk about' list is NOPE.
This episode feature some in-depth takes on the film industry throughout its history. And much exploration of genre filmmaking.
Also, I really wanted to make sure people understand my in-depth analytical brain so I helpfully added some Youtube-esque visual cues to the thumbnail. Hope those are helpful!

Movies with Mikey
omg thank you so much! That's so wonderful to hear
Jacob McLaughlin
This is quite possibly my favorite essay that you have ever done. I have probably watched it at least five times on Nebula already. It's definitely a comfort video at this point.
The Bog Queen
Ooh, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Nope!
Stormy K.
NOPE didn't stick with me like "Get Out" did, but it stuck with me longer than a lot of movies. I love thinkpieces about it!

And endlessly rewatchable, (which might be the same thing but who is keeping score?)

Mikey, you spoil me.
That Akira slide tho..... I still randomly just think about that
James Dominguez
Such a great film, and endlessly discuss-able.
Kyle Frame
Thanks so much for doing this one. "Nope" was one of those movies everyone seemed to see, but then you'd still run into too many people who've not seen it.
