I’m still think something bad needs to happen, mission go’s wrong, Jackson has to make make himself a new limb or organ or something. This is the dark future after all. Your humanity is a currency and if you don’t spend it when you can some else will spend it for you. If he wants to stay human he needs to pay the price for being just a human. Also some corpo commitments need to start cutting into his freedom more.

He never checked the info sent about v and the others?

Awesome. That implant is a serious game changer. And not just for designing shit either. Now he can literally upload the scientific knowledge he gains directly to a linked mainframe nobody can hack or touch but he and his people. That means if something happens to Jackson and he either loses his abilities to gain and retain this knowledge or he dies the information doesn't die with him. Because he's got everything from Biology to Chemistry to Robotics and Metallurgy stuffed up in his brain that nobody on 2077 Earth knows shit about. The scientific principles alone are revolutionary. That shit needs to be preserved ASAP. Now he can do it at the speed of thought. As well as all future knowledge downloads. Thats fucking awesome. Great chapter.

Spoilers! But I'm pretty sure he started remote piloting a robot at the end there. Probably similar in design to Riggs.

You know... So far the tech trees he's got ha e been pretty tame. What happens when he gets something like Eve online, or planetside, or something that let's him effectively make all his people immortal? The power creep in this could get very out of hand.

Yay! It's Brink and Back day! :D

“I was pushing my programming system to the brink…” HE SAID IT!!! HE SAID THE THING!!! Tyftc

I’m hoping him and Lucy get together or the Corpo you created, feel like itd help humanize him more if he had other relationships besides a bro ship, otherwise all the others seem to have a slightly more worshipy feel to them whenever he talk tech

AFlyOnTheWall

I partially agree, because it is to much downtime, but also on the flip side if it was immediately after hed also ramp up drastically and eventually leave them and everyone behind unless this is a fusion verse where like space fairing is common like Mass Effect, Star Wars, or Halo.

I think a single week without new tech is a bit too little, it makes his dungeon dweller habits pay off too much leading to less action and interaction with the wider world, I am fairly interested in seeing MC doing more outwards stuff, exploring and slapping some corporate and gang elements down... He has set up a lot already, and I hope for a big pay off like making Night City his personal kingdom or something like that, Cyberpunk world is quite big and Night City is just a small slice of it (also a fairly contested and out of the way one, where even Arasaka has issues keeping their hold on, Millitech and America basically just reconquered the West Coast and there's a lot to explore in the geopolitical side of things.

I like the toll everything Jackson has been doing is taking on him. It's small things but it humanized him so much more compared to MCs that just are always fine and top of their game

Cole Deucalion

I like the tension he has with Jackie. Gives you an excuse to do a gig or two and invite a bit of chaos into the story. Even if youve written the MC so that he knows it's a bit of a waste of time. Guy treasures his relationships. I do think Jackie would be happy running his own restaurant. Especially since the food would legit be wholesome and good for body/soul. Can picture him with some nomad and/or Haywood teens running the joint and playing big brother/boss with his Madre looking on.
