I've seen a rather interesting explanation for the whole seperate bridge concept in another fanfiction. They justify it by saying that it helps isolate it from the power feedback that occurs when ship systems, especially guns and shields, are damaged in combat. Ie, the Star Trek exploding consoles issue.

BOXI WILL RETURN!!!!!

They know they found the jedi on a lost planet of sorts, but they were unaware the were cultivating it. This is sort of a give away

Yup. There are a ton of fantastic Fannon ships out there reimagined by people. There's a dude named Fractalsponge who does recreations of SW ships with realistic weapon placements and hangar locations. His Assertor class (based on a fan design by Ansel Hsiao that was made Cannon) is particularly awesome but he's got all kinds of fantastic ships. I could see some of those being borrowed and used as hull upgrades.

SwiftFate

Yeah, would love some KOTOR etc tie ins, old empire and republic stuff, planets etc, the unknown regions and so on. Designing their own ships is a bit far off but definitely something I would like them to donatter getting a proper power base set up. But some proper refits of existing designs would be a good start. Starting with the damn bridges, then maybe their gun and hull layout which is pathetic.

That's right Rebel Alliance, you value your partners who stick their necks out for you, go the extra mile, and are generally pleasant to work with, because then you have friends. And so long as you have friends, they can be flexible to make things easier on you. Torch your Golden Goose a few too many times, don't be surprised that those eggs stop falling so easily into your lap.

Fortunis

Im actually hoping he gets with Miru and begins design of his own ships and fighters from the ground up. If he hits the Rakata sectors or where the old Starforge is supposed to be he could easily have better technology than most political groups for ship designs. Or even raiding locations he remembered that have Empire technology he can steal. Like raiding the Terror for the stealth technology for fighters.

Deacon is probably well aware of the logic flaws in the SW universe when it comes to ships. The fact that many of them utilize bridges that sit in vulnerable positions rather than the core where it is most defended, or have designs that limit firing arcs of weapons for no reason. The irony of the Lucrehulk is it is actually one of the better ship designs in a Star Wars. A rotating fortress that has its core protected by weapon arcs in almost all directions outward, aside from galactic north and south. I hope in the future when he gets a proper flag ship, he demands a proper refit and moves the bridge to an armored core in the ship at least. No one is going to realistically be looking out a window in space to watch a naval battle when you have sensores and holo images to utilize. The distances would make it useless.

Fortunis

Excellent. Bets on Deacon having Miru tear apart an A-Wing to draw up custom plans? Or an X-Wing? Or both? Because I absolutely would in his shoes. If he could get a couple of production lines for them either on the Lucrehulk or in orbit of Nirn that'd be fantastic. All hed need is the production machines. And that planetary shield is pure genius. I can't remember. Is the Rebellion leadership aware of Nirn? Not the location but in general. I know Luke is. If not that shield is gonna raise some eyebrows. Great chapter. Thanks for dropping it before the break.

Damn Deacon, remind me to never play poker against you.

yep you can see how the alliance leaders are struggling when they arent the ones on top. The only good thing here for them is Akbar or Raddus arent here so arent slapping everyone to get the ships no matter the cost as they would. The other positive thing is that Mon Motha isnt in the same room as this meeting, if she was i would have expected the entire deal going down in flames from the beginning, shes the biggest control freak in the alliance and even then when they won she used nearly every trick in the book to stay as chancellor post endor and only left when she basically aged out and still managed to get her hand picked successor appointed in her place.

Providence Class is probally My favorite Cis Ship class both the Destroyer variant and the big Battlecruiser variant, Recusant is a close second again for its smaller light destroyer variant and big battlecruiser variant

This showcase is some of the problems that the larger rebellion always had. They were always trying to show people that they represent an alternative to the empire, when sometimes convenience and consistency is what planetary governments and large corporations and companies want to do business with. If you did a deal with imperial backed organization or the empire itself, you got what you paid for. If you did a deal with the rebellion, there's a 50-50 chance that your deal will either go through successfully or be completely cut off, not getting what you pay for, will be scammed. All the while they're trying to act like they have the moral high ground.

Yep, i feel like somebody on the rebels side might end up ticking Deac off enough that he walks out with the Munificent, showing that hes not bluffing about his new stance and hes already made roughly 10 million credits from the Gozantis and Diamond Class plus 2 squadrons of A-wings

Jamie Pizzey

Yeah man there’s a lot of cool separatist ships that could be used, I’m tryna find more fics like this with a modern guy reincarnating in another world? But like a fanfic like the mcu or smthn, I’ve had some luck but no much sadly

strictpig

Really hoping we get an interlude with Rebel High Command about what they think about Deacon’s new attitude towards them. Along with them trying to figure out what else they can offer to secure the ships that they want. But I will say that I’m very happy to see that Deacon is sticking to his plan and is actually negotiating a fair price instead of taking IOU and promises. It actually annoyed me in the earlier chapters.

Duke of Coffee

At least Deacon is driving a hard bargain. Let see if the other rebel leaders will counter offer Deacon. 😜

andrew rousseau

Totally agree, really the only fic i read, others are good but just dont have the same draw as battlemage, and admittedly if i could id bribe Rob with a donation for Deacs crew to find another Seppie black site ship operation from the lucrehulks databanks, Clone wars era Seppie and Pubbie Ships have always been the coolest ships for me and the Arc-170 is cooler than x-wing at least for me

Jamie Pizzey

It’s really sad that this isn’t more regular, I have read your other fictions but in all honesty this is probably my favourite, that may be because I’m a Star Wars geek but honestly this is probably the best SW fanfic out rn and I just wish it was more regularly released

andrew rousseau

Noice, playing hardball is unfortunately necesarry, and at this rate the vanguard may end up keeping the Munificent, which wouldnt hurt my feelings tbh, mjni has excellent comm suite and is a decent combatant at long range
