Why Pokemon is cool and it's also technically a Sci-Fi / fantasy universe and you couldn't get better net security than Porygon. Which are basically Pokemon's version of Digimon. I disagree the immersion and also don't like your own comment. As it makes you look like a narcissist.

Alnatura

Fuck no. Titanfall, become human and xcom are great because they are similar games (sci-fi and space). Pokemon would kill the immersion immediately. The Story will be dead for me if that happens, Well as long as no pokemon will come out of it... maybe it will be okay.

HeavyWood

I love your stories! Please keep up the amazing work.

Milton Skipper

or perhaps a turtle, Misty deserves a pet/guard

Vyktor

An owl for Misty? 🤔

So many good tech trees to see, personally I would like to see Crysis Nanosuits, being able to have a suit substitute as a body has great use for the droids and also makes for a great cybernetic implant which is a gradual and almost organic upgrade overall, Overwatch as a whole also seems a lot more advanced when compared to the skewed cyberpunk obsession with ways to kill themselves, miracle medicines, gravity manipulation, animal sentience uplifting, time manipulation and lots of shields, all within the realm of not complete op quite yet too.

Anthony Maxwell

Personally I think it would be cool for the next tech tree was the Pokemon universe. As some of the Pokemon are artificial creations and there's cloning technology amongst other things.

I'm wondering if this story will ever expand into space 🚀 and possibly into another science fiction one with aliens. Of course after he takes the mega corporations down or most of them.

Fortunis

Yes and no. He already has access to world breaking tech. He just can't do much with it till his Corp takes off and begins to grow powerful enough people can't fuck with him.

Fortunis

Now there's a thought. Combining the Zerg and Vong tech trees? Holy fuck. The level of genetic technology from that would be absolutely insane. That said, if he were to get the Vong tech Tree I'd assume he'd get the entire Star Wars tree since it's all part of the same universe. That would be cool because of the FTL alone. But it's also got a shit load of droids and space based technologies like shields. Shit Bacta Tanks alone would be a massive leap in medical technology. Combining all the shit he could get from the Star Wars universe with his current tech would be ridiculous. I'd kinda like to see that pop out later though. When he could take advantage of things like construction of an orbital Shipyard and building turbo lasers.

Pearl of the Orient

Like chicken. Everything tastes like chicken

It was more of an offhand comment but if we're doing this we're doing this. A Zerg tree would be absolutely insane. Highly adaptable genetics make really really good evolving bioware. Sandy? How about Adrenal Glands and Metabolic Boost. Regrowing limbs? Not a problem! Bioweapons and Toxins? Welcome to The Swarm! And that's just the personal stuff without an actual Swarm. The tree could include even the exotic stuff like psionics and we know that a Human can be modified to actually control the Swarm, aside from stuff like ETC (External Thinking Capacity). What's a Cerebrate other than an external Brain? Flora that enriches the wastes and grass that's actually creep... so many options. But alas it would break any semblance of power balance something fierce.

Stephen

I’m of two minds regarding the one week cooldown. I think there should be some sort of penalty for keeping a tree for two weeks. If we are going with the standard of a week cool down no matter what, maybe he can get a lower quality tree after a two week stint? Otherwise I can’t see the benefit of not keeping a tree for two weeks vs one. Especially since he can just do what was introduced in this chapter and make little gadgets and gizmos to fill everything.

TyrTheFallen

At this point I'm more scared of the new tech tree than thrilled since it might break the story for me. Most of the time this type of stories go off the rails once you have certain technology the Mc being placed in cyberpunk was smart since a lot of tech would not make big changes.

Al

If they pull it off it will be his second greatest invention

Cmols897

that could be a good potential use for those kinds of trees. Put them in a sealed off room, have some way to separate them for harvest, and have a remote kill switch on the off chance someone tries to set them lose

Cmols897

I feel like it is. After this they are basically going to assault a tiger claws stronghold, probably going to get a few new residents in the town, and their new Corp is going to attract attention from someone soon

Yunru

I'm going to buck the (probable) trend and hope he doesn't get a tech tree that directly addresses the food issue. It's a fun side project with low stakes and high (non-monetary) reward. Regreening the Earth with something like Horizon: Zero Dawn? Sure, take from a tree. But recreating specific foods? I'd prefer that be a custom solution, narratively.

Yunru

Okay now that? That is a worthy goal. Although you may not want to replicate the food 1-to-1, might want to remove any corporate tampering first.

Nathan R Chase

feels like an end of an arc chapter

Loghead101

Yeah, good chapter man. It’s the little things like a cookout with friends that make the cesspit that is Night City almost worth it. Finding the echoes of human kindness in all the sin and metal. Also if he wants to get a stacked tech tree that could solve energy issues, give some badass weapons and provide a food cloning solution, might I recommend Fallout. Look up salient green for the later.

Eich8noe

Well, that does it. The Corpos won't raid him for tech but the Strawberrypatch and Chicken wings. How do Zerglings taste?
