Having a lvl 3 power that makes him potentially retired send the really wrong message. Had he obtained it the normal way that would be a total of 6 charged used. Not to become stronger or obtain a power he would even use regularly. And in this case one would have to even ask himself do I put even more point to see if it becomes manageable at higher lvl or not cause that would be 4 point so almost an entire 2 week charge… I understand some restriction to not have an OP character from day 1, but too much of it seems like voluntary mc bashing. He won’t be strong in a very long time anyway considering the amount of charge he need to spend. There are already way too much drawbacks to his powers.

Again, these are not power gaming options. these are random things I think are fun/interesting for you guys to give him that might work well with other abilities.

I love this story so far, and I don't mean to be an ass... but I voted Druidcraft not because it's good, but because its the least shitty option. I THINK that's mainly because you don't want the MC uber powerful in 3 chapters like with the Celestial Grimoire, but given I LIKE OP!MC's... *shrugs*

I think the cartography would be the for sure way to go, find supplies and stuff to make your baseline stronger. Also consider it could be helpful for search and rescue!

Larry

He desperately needs allies, and if capes are gonna be assholes, beasttaming will let him make his own.

So I set the rules out pretty well in the first one, but basically these are branches to give him some variety. These won't ever have anything that he has or is immediate considering

* Edit: please ignore ramble, Author explained the rules. * No choice to improve something he already has? The choices are fine but improving one of his currently available choices would see him much better off than branching out to have another weak option. It would also give him a bit of safety net if he chances by one of the bigger hitters in the Bay. For combat, improving his lightning would have a stronger impact over having a likely weaker “summon” that could be killed in a serious fight. Unless he is ok sending them out to die as distractions (like what Taylor does with bugs). His healing improving would also be more beneficial than being able to grow some fruits and veges on the curb and would improve his value as a Cape. Less likely to be killed offhandedly due to his value in EB fights and for the chance to seek him out for an emergency. Even if he could create and control plants (which is cool) BB doesn’t strike me as a lush environment that would have made this choice more appealing. Cartography would be immensely useful at later levels for finding Capes to either bring down or stay away from but for now something like improving his self buffs would see his survivability shoot up over a choice like that. Sorry for the ramble, i’m just leaning towards first securing a stable footing where he wouldn’t be pushed around and scared all the time over having a bit more versatility. It would also do more to mask his growth than if he picked something completely new (if it’s visible like taming or plants). They would just likely think he was holding back.

Vincent Mason

I agree. It's pretty cool as a concept.

Robert Meta

If he went crazy with it, maybe, but they didn't do that to Taylor for a while. Besides, he wont be able to tame massive groups or anything

West Wind

Beast taming would make him a master and they would gladly put a kill order on him if he is not working for them

I think Druidcraft would be cool. He's already started working with the homeless right? I can totally see him putting his hands into ground and watching an entire garden sprout up instantly to help feed people. It's just kind of fits so far plus I think it would be cool
