I agree. Barry's part in that was perfect. I want to like Brophy as well. I just don't know if it's really possible. He avoids dealing with counciling. He's learned how to "play the game" with older hunters. He's probably been doing it his while life. Hopefully Robert can do some good for him but who really knows.

Almost done listening to the audio book and I have to say the way they portray Barry egging Brophy on- the whole it’s not Sal’s job to fix you thing, is probably my favorite part. I still want to like Brophy even though he has many problems.

No it needs Divinity (especially because i think she and Barry balance each other nicely), she just needs to learn to stop trying to manipulate people into the perfect future she wants and she will be fine, she is to reliant on her powers and not living in the moment. What concerns me most about Divinity is she said Robert is a great guy but both Sophia, Petro and Luke from the Dragoons say he cant really be fully trusted so it makes me think Divinity isn't all she says she is. was her meeting Sal the way she did planned and thought out?

I actually don't even know if I see Sal going for any licensing exams. He's a guild leader himself, and even if he wasn't he wouldn't need licenses to be hirable.

Psionic blockers don't seem too rare since the Argento's were able to source some that readily. If anyone were to give a reaction, I'd like to see Erika's tbh. Neuro's probably used to them or wouldn't be surprised a prodigy crafter would have one.

In earlier books when Sal copied Divinity's ability he figured out that when Divinity's weave no longer has inefficiencies, her ability should include a manifestation of angelic wings. When he used her skill himself actually he was able to manifest a pair.

Ok holy shit. How the hell did he miss the whole "it's a weave for items" thing? Because holy shit. If he can give a suit of armor, a ring, a necklace, literally anything the skill weaves he's perfected and give that item the ability to store and syphon essence he can give items abilities more powerful than any single person can use. If he starts adding shit like that to drones? Seriously i can't wait to see what that weave is for. This story is awesome. I still want to see him turn his guild building in to a Mythic growth building 😆

Yeah in hindsight it's actually really obvious that the perfected weave Sal is using must be above appraise because of how it interacts with upgrade to make the myth crafter skill. The fundamental difference between what Sal see and what upgrade sees are what is covered by his true-sight ability.

I wonder if whatever new weave Sal just developed is the thing I hat would be required to reach beyond Mythic, the higher rarity items require them to have an object weave implanted in them. Although I don't think we'll see a higher ranked item for a good while

Wholly crap I I just re read this after listening to Sal at the workshop bazaar “Salvatore: I was there earlier, and it was great. Did you try the aerial stu ff with the platforms? Divinity: Nah, I'll wait until I can grow a pair of wings.” Does this mean she has seen herself with the Valkyrie wing suit from Sal or does her ability get stronger? 🤯🤯🤯 Or I have gone down as rabbit hole and way off the mark hahaha

Downloaded and listening now. Just because it would be fun, any thoughts on doing a personal voiceover on a “How we got here” section at the beginning of each book? Similar to Primal Hunter series does it. That or have Chatfield to voice over a field report or something.

Sal has the maximised all sight he father taught him to only recognise it as aprasel. The first time are told this is about the skill is in book one by divinity and later when he discusses what happened at the skill registration with quest and upgrade and finally finds out that he has a mix of his parents weaves in book 4 first draft.

Producing high grade healing potions with the elixir machine would be simpler. Making a bulk supply and passing then out to all the Saviors could be done right away. I like your idea with a gate unlocking machine definitely feels safer than how the legendary jacket works.

I really want Sal to make a healing project his next big project after his alchemical coffee machine is built. Finding a way to heal himself while maybe naturally unknotting weaves (more for others than himself) or opening essence gates by sleeping in a specially designed pod seems like just the thing that Sal could make to break the future with the major problem being Bastion getting a hold of it. It could help so many people in his life and free up time again for him to dungeon delve or improve his other skills.

Ok lots of questions: So how comes he never uses divinity's weave anymore? Just like nags her to check for him. And doesn't he use the perfected version of all skills, but somehow not his dad's, which he has the most practice using, even perfect doesn't seem to help with all-sight somehow? What happened to the body-fixing cocoon he was going to sleep inside of? Isn't that cocoon borderline essential to his health? He mentioned letting his drone fly around and learn more so I'm hoping his drone doesn't just sit around invisible all day when he's crafting, it should be working and leveling up. I want that thing to develop sapience/sentience/butler-power soon. I definitely enjoyed this set of chapters, so to the author all the gratitude!

Continuity error: Upgrades present. It was described in book 4 as “Sal tapped the next one up. It was a small decorative box that was similar in size to the ones they used for the Obsidian Daggers. "This is a present for Upgrade. I'll be taking it in the car with me, since I don't want to risk it going missing." Now she’s has multiple crates of materials and a blueprint.

Two quick edits I found (I think) Chapter 13: “3 compatible users” then goes on to show 4. Chapter 14: page 4 paragraph 3 “Sal was able to see each and ever”. Love the chapters I’m getting the feeling by the last line that Sal is going to end up making a man made dungeon where you can control the demon spawn rates and variations. By accident of course in true Sal fashion hahaha.
