I would like to add that I am missing Vanessa in this whole Gala-arc. Shouldn't she be trying to get some connections with the Guilds or at least introduce herself to Sals parents as his agent? And would't Sophia be interogating her? If all of them want to be serious with this whole Guild-Buissness, I feel like they are not communicating enough.

I am loving g Sophia. Can't wait to learn about her background. She is literally the only sane one there, the Robert just tried to do a political move that would stunt an up and coming Saviour for morale and it literally blew up in his face. Sal was mad at Quest for going along with it until Quest said something to him, yet he isn't mad at Robert, the person behind it? Only Sophia was. She is know one of my favorite characters, up there with Barry and Divinity. I am however growing more and more annoyed with Sal with everything Fabi, he literally just met her for the first time and he is now going to go 50/50 on a land deal with her for his Guild HQ?! They don't know each other at all. Sure they might have known each other as kids, but Sal doesn't remember. Sal and his parents might know her father but that isn't enough for two people to go in on something like this.

She pretty much tied her whole future to him already via the Guild in Silver, and that is ignoring the sparks flying everywhere. To be fair I can see them falling asleep working together -- which is more likely than anything else.

Also, thanks for the early chapters- I was already jonesing for your regular Monday delivery. While reading Chapter 45, it felt like I was a witnessing a family squabble. We only become TRULY angry at other people when love and fear are involved- so (again), what IS the relationship between Robert and Sophia? If it’s familial, why has Sal been in the dark about it? Nevermind, Sal seems to have been in the dark about most things prior to Quest Academy…

Yay, extra chapters! And congrats on the book release!! One thing that isn't clear to me in this batch is why Robert is at this moment concerned about Skill Implantation, because it's an established thing. They do it when students arrive to the Academy and all the Saviors are supposed to get a second skill, right? Students in the Savior class who got a second imprint were always going to talk, and so it's already been established that you can be given new skills you weren't born with. The only thing innovative about Fabi is that her weave was so knotted that she couldn't access it, so Robert's explanation about using the demonstration to discourage guilds and Bastion from developing their own machines doesn't make sense. This isn't a technology that's being revealed for the first time; if anything, Fabi's imprint was (publicly) about unlocking something she already had, not giving a weave to someone who didn't have one previously. Also, it's not clear to me how "springing" this on Quest and Grant at the Gala was supposed to translate into Fabi getting an inferior weave. Was it because of the core power requirement? That seems tenuous, because the smarter move would have been to just *not mention her getting an implant* and let the whole thing be done in private. Robert's stated motivations seem to be in conflict: was Fabi supposed to be a morale boost or a (deliberate) disappointment? It's not a "position [they] put [him] in," it's a totally unnecessary kerfuffle of his own incompetent making.

I get Eric from Arc poked fun at him in the Tower trial but i assumed that was to ease the tension that Students may have been feeling after floor 3. But no one else has seemed to talk to Rob that way not even Quest. who was willing to give Fabi a lesser ability to appease Rob

I like that the tracker is not bound to the gun anymore. Now Sal needs to think when and how to use it. Figment seems to belong to a whole new category of abilities… Sal what have you done now? 😂 And did Divinity see this coming? And Fabi talking to the mythcrafter of the guild about HER workshop is just golden 😆

Thanks for the chapters and I just picked up a copy of book 3 for reference material. I have one thing to ask about the chapters. The Skill Zenith. The description says it uses internal essence. If that means to the exclusion of tethering to cores then it's probably fine. Other wise, can you add in a max duration and/or cool down time to keep him from abusing it like the "calm" ability?

It says that Fabi's figment rating is 39 while Sal said her grade is in the early forties. Are these two things related?

FYI, I will be purchasing the ebook even though I've read it 3 times already. I'm waiting for Amazon to do their 3x points for Kindle Rewards, (this might be a US only thing) so I'm spending my $'s in the most effective way. These 2 chapters did a lot for whole story and are making me go back a few chapters to read the whole sequence of events again. This looks like the start of Divinity's vision for the Guild and Sal & Fabi, Blathnaid. I think Jack is going to come into his own when they get back to the academy and Sal fulfills his deal with Alex. Really good stuff this week, thank you.

I had a bit of a problem following the transition from the last chapters to this set. Felt like a huge jump into o the room. But I love where everything is moving. Congratulations on the release. Very excited to hear the audio version. I’m stuck at work so much it’s how I devour most books.

There’s a bit of disconnect between chapters 44 and 45, and Robert never actually apologizes to Salvatore so I don’t really understand that interaction between him and Sophia. I also don’t understand why Robert would make them do this presentation in the first place if he was worried about Bastion, nor brief them on how he wanted said presentation to go to avoid their scrutiny. There’s a bit of a disconnect in Sophia’s character before and after her reveal, though this is easiest to explain away. Sophia wasn’t as confident and authoritative beforehand, acting like she didn’t understand what anyone was talking about. She could simply be an unnervingly good actor, I suppose.
