Quest Academy: Scavengers (Book 2) - Chapters 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35

This is a rough draft I don’t think formatting is a large concern. That’s what publishers are for. I think we are just supposed to enjoy the content. And give feed back on the story.

I just signed up and am really enjoying the series. But, dear God, please adjust your formatting. In literally every other book I've read, from a dozen other English speaking countries, when a new person begins speaking, you get a new paragraph. I cannot tell you how many times I've had to stop and reread a section because of this.

You’re not wrong - it’s just there are more dungeons and monsters than guilds - supply is outdoing demand. There is an army and humanity fighting the monsters, and there are the guilds who have commercialised the hunting. It makes sense when the loot has value and the heroes skills have value. Chatfield wants more people, and he’d take more guilds and more heroes, but he’s also after more people to help in general. At least the way I'm taking it as the people who can’t singularly help, join the defensive army to help as a group.

the way i see it and it may be wrong is that guilds are made from several styles which include a civilian chapter Sals business plan was to probably be crafter thats kept safe. Hell even the start of book 1 his father was said you dont need to go all the way. Quest academy is meant to make heroes meant to fight back against the demons Chatfield is more like a bootcamp instructor who is upset that the first years curriculum is centered around human-human combat which is implace because Quest didnt wanna throw people into the deep end from get go. How ever Quest academy is a hero academy which is pretty much the equivilant of a combat school meant to develop powers to push the demons back. Sal's crippling fear or demons is more just the fact that he has been safe his whole life and until very recently he couldnt even use his power all that much.

I am confused! The sense I got from the first book is that dungeons and guilds were like an industry. Guilds kill monsters, get drops, sell drops, buy weapons, kill monsters, rinse and repeat. Now, with the introduction of Chatfield who wants to create an army, I am wondering what happens to Sal's business plans.

One could argue that throwing an untrained person into a pack of demons without any training is equally negligent, but here we are. Besides I don't think upgrade or the other guy would let any serious harm come to him. So Slightly neglegent at best. Since he was in no real danger, no one was around to get hurt, and they were watching to correct any crucial errors.

Not me, Sal has already mentioned how Divinity is his ideal girl. It should be her in my opinion.

I agree, but I also get the idea that they see him as one in a thousand (humanity is pretty decimated) and want to show him the reality before his fear overwhelms him even more. They’re trying to show him that he can do it. I agree that it’s incredibly rough and maybe they should bring in some cute and cuddly monsters to class to acclimate the students… but… it seems they’re not that coddling. It is funny that they’d have to see this hundreds of times in hundreds of classes and don’t have a better response. That said, they probably don’t usually leave it up to Upgrade and Chatfield to break in the new guys.

I like these books but it kills me how terrified he is. I mean yes with his current power set he is a support and physically can't fight them but all he needs to do is find someone with a physical ability to copy while he is in the dungeon. I mean I am kinda confused at why everyone is ignoring that when they want him in the saviors class. Also I agree with the person above it is ridiculous that the did not train him on how to use a gun before they took him there to kill demons.

I get why they are doing this to him but it feels a little like torture. Poor Sal.

Oh yeah I remember now. I could see it but I'd rather divinity stay a friend and find someone else. Maybe someone completely immune to her powers. I feel like she deserves a normal relationship, and being able to see your partner in every future kinda ruins it. Imagine she gets mad at you weeks before you did something

Vanessa and Upgrade were in the same year at Quest Academy. If a romance does develop, I'm rooting for Divinity, personally.

Idk man, the lines would be pretty blurry if it was upgrade. She is his mentor and professor... plus I'm not entirely sure of the age difference, I can't remember off the top of my head. Vanessa is similar but less blurry than upgrade. I'm thinking it's gonna be hannah(I think thats her name, been awhile since book 1), she is gonna fall for him and stop all that foolin around but I could be completely wrong.

Thanks for the chapters! Love the story so far. I do have 1 MAJOR gripe about the complete lack of anything resembling firearm safety, because even in our relatively safe world, no one should handle a firearm on a range without at the minimum learning the 4 basic rules of handling firearms, the basic operation of the weapon in question, and receiving at least an explanation and demonstration of proper firing posture/technique. Taking someone who has never fired a gun, nor been given lessons on safety, basic operation, Safety, proper firing stance, or SAFETY is grossly negligent at best.

Poor old sal! Lol it sucks but he needs to go through with it. Hopefully he can conquer himself. On another note, I curious if you are planning to develop a romantic subplot? I know several women have flirted with him but I'm curious as to what direction your going to take it, if any.
