This is amazing and I can't wait till you publish the complete version! I do recommend using feathers and wool for featherstep sole instead. If possible, id also recommend to put a back slot for the chestplate. Not for the elytra (still think that should be separate), but to put small purely cosmetic additions like a cape, scarf, extending the shroud or adding a banner. At least something like that to add final touches.
