Crimson High v0.44 - Dev Log #2

First of all, a quick oopsie. I didn't mean to notify y'all about the edit to the previous dev log. Turns out that Patreon's coloring choices for their confirm/deny buttons don't quite align with my own ideas of how these buttons should be colored. So yeah, my bad, I guess.
With that outta the way, let's get into the dev log proper, shall we? I promise to keep it snappy, too.

The update. Well, what can I say? It's coming along nicely, as far as I can tell, though it's an undertaking for sure. Lots of planning and rearranging went into this one already, and I'm not yet done with it.
Lengthwise, it's going to be the longest update I've released so far - and that's including the rather lengthy initial release of CH which some of you may or may not remember. I won't give any exact numbers yet, since those may still change and I don't want to overpromise. Instead, I'd rather not say anything and give y'all a nice surprise when it's done.
And content-wise, well.. it's an interesting one, for sure. Again, not going to say much, though.
You may wonder what this dev log is for, if I'm not going to give you any actual information. To that I say: Yeah, I know, right?
Just kidding. Of course there's actual information. Though it's mostly in the form of me telling you that:
a) Yes, I'm still alive
b) The update's getting there
and last but definitely not least:
c) This is the last time I'm making an update this big
I know I said that already, but I feel it's important to emphasize this. Because I definitely do not like the results of this experiment, so far.

Which brings me to my next topic - something that is only tangentially related to the update, but still relevant to CH as a whole, since it helps with enabling me to continue making the game full-time:
Come Wednesday, you'll find a few of the membership tiers on here discounted, though it'll mainly be the ones with ancillary benefits like monthly custom renders. If you're interested in that, Wednesday would be a good time to grab it. I'll make a dedicated post with detailed instructions when the time comes, though.

As for a release date for the update? You may already have guessed it, but I'm not going to give any concrete numbers or dates. However, I can give a rough estimate at this point.
If nothing gets in the way, the time around Halloween is likely to see the update released.
Just to emphasize:
This is not a hard promise but rather an estimate.
It's a reasonable one, though.

And finally, a bit of info about my life and how it's going, just to assuage anyone's fears about any potential spontaneous combustions or other terrible fates that could hit me.
My doctor said I'm healthy as can be (except for an annoying gastritis, but oh well), so that's good.
My stress levels have been kind of through the roof lately, since the apartment right next to my bedroom was being remodeled, and remodeled loudly. For weeks. Including on Saturdays and Sundays.
But that was just a temporary inconvenience and I'm doing well all things considered. So rest easy - CH will keep getting made and completed. Woo!
(I know that should go without saying, but.. yeah. Probably best to actually say it out loud. Well, in text. But you know what I mean.)

I feel like there's potential for growth here, but I honestly don't know what else I could add - so if you have any ideas for things that could be worthwhile additions, let me know.
Next post I'll make on here will probably be the release schedule. Or possibly a third dev log, if I think that's needed. We'll find out, I guess!

Heya! No, I did mean Halloween, but that didn't quite work out. The update is a bit longer than expected and I'm still working on it. Thanksgiving could actually be what we end up at lol I'm going to make another dev log sometime this week, where I give some more concrete information. TL;DR of it is going to be: update's still not done, but we're still kinda on schedule, if we go with the time it usually takes for a single update multiplied by the size of the upcoming update. So, fret not, you'll get content worth the wait :P
