2021 Recap
🕑 Added 2021-12-31 13:34:13 +0000 UTC This year I decided against making the recap include my 12 favourite illustrations from each month as this year i had only made about 2 illustrations a month, that is, excluding all of the manga and bonus Pixiv FANBOX illustrations, which i made a lot of this year. I should proabably not go so hard on making the bonus versions for the next year. Instead i Chose to display my 3 favourite illustrations that i made this year. As you can see all 3 of them are from Honkai Impact 3rd. From left to right, first is the Mecha Herrscher of Thunder. I wanted to learn how to draw these mecha girl designs, and so i decided to do it for Mei's Herrscher form. I really liked how well this turned out, and since viewers also were liking it, i decided to start making other Mecha Herrscher designs. So far i have done Herrscher of the Void and Herrscher of Sentience. I decided to choose the Herrscher of Thunder, because the other two didnt turn out as mecha as i was hoping for, but still i do really like the other two as well Second image is Neon Shade Yae Sakura. Of course i had to choose this one, because on Pixiv, it is my most bookmarked work i have made so far. And by a large margin. This was one of the first works where i really put a lot more effort into designing an interesting looking background, so i could improve my background drawing skills. I think it worked out well, but i definitelly could have done more on the neon hologram billboards. And last image is Mobius. The situation with this illustration is unfortunate. I really really like how it turned out. The illustration looks so true to how the game actually looks. But unfortunatelly neither on Pixiv nor DeviantArt this illustration didnt get the attention i was hoping it would get. Looking back at the last year, nothing too much different has happened with my art. So this time i wont explain what happened in each month like i did in my last year recap post. But some additional facts i want to drop in here: しかし、私がここに残したいいくつかの追加の事実： - In last years recap i mentioned that i decided to scrap my manga project that i was really excited about. This year i have done more work to really make this manga project a reality. At the begining of the year i uploaded my first manga "Slime alchemy" which thought me a lot about how to improve my drawing speed. Also i understood that mangas cannot be made with the same level of detail as regular illustrations, else it takas ridiculous amount of time to finish. Also, now, at the end of the year, i started uploading my second manga "Dangerous Modifications" where i put these learned things to use. The manga pannels are way more interesting, there are less panels per page so it doesnt look so cluttered and I went with a far simpler visual quality, so i could make the manga pages quickly. So far it has worked out pretty well. But i still have to tune some things. Right now the visual quality is too simplistic. - Another unfortunate news was that my Pixiv FANBOX following wasnt improving like i was hoping it would. It felt like the bonus illustrations i was making were barely seen by anyone. So i had to change up how i provided bonus illustrations for my supporters. I made the exclusive illustrations available to anyone. Last year I ended by saying "lets just hope next year wont get worse", well seing from how the things have been going this year, i cant say things have improved that much. But things have to start improving soon, right?
