Dev Update 2021-08-31 & Latest Dev Build
🕑 Added 2021-08-31 20:04:36 +0000 UTCI've been spending most of my time this week in preparation for the Itch launch tomorrow, but I wanted to share the build with all of you a day early!
@Infinite Canvas, welcome and thanks for becoming a Patron. I know I said it's a little late to add you to the credits of the current build - but I had to rebuild the package to include some last-minute changes, so I was wrong. <3
I also had a tense moment earlier today where the latest version of Ren'Py broke my coding interface, making it crash to the desktop whenever I opened it. Luckily I was able to resolve it with a workaround.
Other than that, I'm excited about the launch. I'm excited for it to bring in some more fans, and I'm excited for it to be over so I can focus on adding the rest of the planned content to the game.
For the actual changes in this build:
- Everything mentioned in the previous dev update.
- Assigned default values to all variables at initialization. I should have done this ages ago.
- Added a force autosave just before the credits to make it easier to continue the game when new content arrives. I think there is still one remaining issue that might break saves in the future, but I'm working on it.
- Reworked the entire credits scene and removed the Patreon scene at the end. I might make a new one at a later stage.
- Added additional polish to scene endings and their transitions.
- Added three more characters to the random pool to display on the Main Menu.
- Added Lieutenant Infinite Canvas to the Patron credits. <3
