"English Roses" - A 1780's inpired Set.
🕑 Added 2020-08-31 03:01:08 +0000 UTCI know that last month i made a little survey about what type of CC you guys wanted and the "French Whores!" project was born. A little set inspired by famous french courtesans. However i've feeling extra unispired with the project that i started to deviate myself from that project and start another one. If your follow me in Tumblr you'll see i created a little funny skit named "Malicious Mademoiselles" a Mean Girls sorta parody set on 1775 Versailles. Because i want to keep doing this little funny project i'll need some extra clothing to go along with it... and then, i made this dress.

A simple Gingham dress with apron, a fun wink to Lindsay Lohan's Checkered t-shirt on the movie. A couple of days after i posted a lovely follower asked me if i could release it. I had no intention to release such a basic CC so, i made loads of Swatches, created a basic Fichu to go with the dress et Voilá.
The first dress is a 1780's simple Printed Cotton Round Gown. A round gown tends to have the fitted back of the robe a l’Anglaise. As American Duchess notes, “The skirt and petticoat are as one - it is not an open robe. Popular in the 1770s through the end of the 18th century, the round gown featured a front-closing bodice with no stomacher, and a drop-front skirt.”
Round gowns continue to appear into the later 18th century, even as the waistlines shift higher to keep up with fashion trends in the 1790s.

The second Dress is a 1775-80's inspired Silk-ish Robe a l’Anglaise which consisted of a fitted bodice cut in one piece with an overskirt that was often parted in front to reveal the petticoat. The petticoat could be entirely match the bodice or have contrasting pieces.
To finish the look, i made a Fichu arranged in a circular style inspired in this piece. The Fichu no only was decorative but also functional, provided protection to the sun and a sense of modesty in contrast with the super revealing bodices.

The whole Set consists of two dress recolors from Historical Sim Life's Mesh and a Fichu made by me.

Next time I play sims I’ll definitely check there first. Thanks! :)

It should be under the "Necklace" category at the very end. I might update the files and create some Perzonalized Previews for this.

These came out so beautiful. There’s a couple of the pink floral swatches that are particular favourites of mine. They’re just gorgeous omg. I have to ask though, what category is the fichu under? I couldn’t find it in game. Could just be a matter of me not knowing where to look.
