Now, he just had to make sure that Harry felt compassion for his fiancee's estranged brother and decided to utilize his vast connections to provide him a position in the ministry that he was entitled to.
"Oh, Percy, I got your owl a while ago! Are we truly hosting Harry Potter for dinner, darling? His lovely wife Audrey asked him excitedly as he entered the sitting area.
"Yes, sweetheart, Harry finally accepted my invitation. He will arrive in two hours." Percy answered as he sat down beside his wife.

We need to make sure that when Harry leaves our home, he's had the best night of his life," Percy stressed to Audrey as he took a sip of his tea. "Make your delicious roast chicken and some pork pies for dinner. Also, shepherd's pie. I remember Harry loved it at Hogwarts." Percy told her seriously as he enjoyed his cup of tea.
"Don't you worry, Percy. I'll make sure everything's perfect." Audrey assured her husband as she walked into the kitchen to start preparing dinner.

"As you wish, Audrey," Harry said as he gladly accepted the offered glass. "And I'm very glad I came here. I don't think I've had such a delicious shepherd's pie in a very long time."
Audrey beamed at his honest compliment.
"So, how's work at the ministry, Percy? I was very surprised today to see you in the Department Of Mysteries." Harry asked his old housemate curiously.
Percy hesitated to answer his simple question. "Ah, well, it was a total coincidence on my part as well, Lord Potter. Mr. Croaker had asked me to bring him some files for the next winter solstice. I had just delivered him those files when our paths crossed."
Harry looked at Percy quizzically. "I thought you worked in the International Affairs. Why would Croaker ask you for files instead of someone from the archives?"
A fierce scowl appeared on Percy's face at Harry's question.
"Percy's been working in the archives for some time, Lord Potter. He had been fired from his old job by the undersecretary of the minister." Audrey answered him on her husband's behalf.
"When did that happen? I thought you were brilliant in your job, Percy? Why would Mr. Weasley fire you from your position?"
Percy looked very angry on his own behalf. "I don't know what I did to deserve that, Lord Potter. My father never gave me a clear reason for my dismissal. I don't think you're aware of this, but on the night of the Hogwart's battle, I had not joined the fight. Dad had called me a coward ever since. And maybe he's right. Maybe I was a coward. When I got the news that there was going to be a battle, I must admit that I was afraid of what would happen to Audrey and I if we fought and the Dark Lord won that night?" He answered in a bitter voice.
Harry nodded at him in sympathy. "I understand that, Percy. It's not wrong to be afraid for your loved ones. Still, it was wrong of others to punish you like this. You deserve to work in the department that fully utilizes your talents."
Audrey beamed in happiness at Harry's words. "See, Percy. Lord Potter agrees with me. You need to cut yourself some slack, darling. It's been so long since the war had ended. How long are you going to keep punishing yourself like this?"

Harry looked at him over the rim of his wine glass. "I know that you're happy with this news, Percy. But I'm afraid you need to understand that it'll take me some time to get you your old position back. You know how people don't appreciate my influence on the minister or the power I wield in the ministry. I don't want anyone to point fingers or imply that I'm positioning my close family in the positions of power."
The brilliant smile on Percy and Audrey's faces vanished at once. They both glanced at each other in concern.
"Surely no one would question your character like that, Lord Potter. I mean, you are Professor Dumbledore's successor. No one would begrudge you appointing suitable individuals in positions." Audrey questioned weakly.
Harry shook his head.
"It's still not ideal, Audrey. I'm afraid it will take somewhere between six to twelve months for me to guarantee that Percy gets promoted without any accusation of favoritism. Otherwise, such allegations could ruin your career, Percy." He explained gravely.
Percy nodded at his words.
"Yes, you're right, Lord Potter. But surely there must be something I could do to speed up my promotion." Percy almost pleaded.
Harry smiled as Percy took his bait.
"You'll need to demonstrate that you're qualified for the position. I have heard rumors that we have been having some problems with the Brazilian ministry regarding some tariffs on potion ingredients. I could recommend you for the job if you are confident that you'll succeed in brokering an agreement." Harry offered certain that Percy would jump to accept his offer.
As expected, Percy didn't pause for a second. "I'll do it, Lord Potter. I have kept myself abreast of International affairs. I assure you I'm the best man for the job." Percy asserted.
"Well, in that case. You'll have to depart for Brazil immediately. The person assigned by the Department is scheduled to leave in the morning. If you want to go in his place, you have to go to the ministry right now to submit the required forms." Harry informed Percy.
"I'll be on my way then, Lord Potter," Percy announced as he quickly summoned his ever-ready travel bag.
"Don't worry about the logistics, Percy. You just get to the ministry as fast as possible. And stay there no matter what. I'll send a Patronus to inform them about the change of plans." Harry reassured Percy trying to quickly get him out of the house.
