As she lay there in her bed, crying and upset, Hermione knew that she had missed her chance with Ron. She knew without a doubt, that even if she told him about her feelings, there was no way that he would break up with someone as beautiful as Lavender to be with her.

Hermione knew she needed help. Particularly, help from someone who understood how to get dates with the opposite sex. Unfortunately for her, she didn't know any dating gurus personally. However, when she thought about it, Hermione realized that there was one person at Hogwarts who was quite well known for his love trysts.
Harry Potter was in the seventh year like Hermione. But most importantly, he was known around the castle as quite the ladies' man. Ever since their third year, he had been dating one girl after another. There had to be a secret as to why he was so successful in getting dates. Maybe, if she asked him, he would tell her what she needed to do to find someone who would love her.
Finally, Hermione's mind was made up. Her bad mood improved all of a sudden as she realized she had a plan of action in front of her.
The next morning, Hermione set out on her mission to find Harry Potter. After a couple of hours of searching the entire castle, she finally found him in the library working on an essay. Hermione grinned as she quickly marched up to his desk, plopping down in the empty chair beside him.
Harry Potter was sitting in a secluded corner of the library, busy working on a Transfiguration essay when he heard someone settle down in the chair beside him.
"Do you need something?" He asked Hermione in an irritated voice as he looked up from his Transfiguration book to glance in her direction.

Harry couldn't really understand what his dating life had to do with anything or where she was going with this. Still, he knew Granger wouldn't be wasting his time. She must have a point. So, he gave her a nod.

Harry's eyebrows climbed upwards in surprise. He didn't think he heard her right. "I'm sorry, Granger. I don't think I heard you right. Did you just say that you want me to teach you how to get boys? Is that right?" He asked her again just to make sure his ears weren't suffering any damage.
Hermione could feel her face burning but she nodded back nonetheless. "Yeah. That's about it," she answered Harry, trying to act nonchalant.
Harry snorted. He couldn't believe this. "You're out of your mind, Granger," he scoffed, turning away from Hermione.

Harry realized he wasn't going to change Hermione's mind. So, he decided to let it go for the moment. As for her request, he decided to give it a little thought.
Hermione's palms started sweating as she watched Harry think it over. Her face most likely didn't show it, but right now, she was so nervous that she felt like she was about to throw up.
Harry thought about Hermione's offer for a while, weighing out both pros and cons. Hermione nodded seriously in response to Harry's words. The brunette looked like she was itching to take out a notebook and start taking notes.
