The private onsen was nestled somewhere quiet. The air was thick with steam and the soft scent of minerals, heat curling against skin and stone. No signs, no crowds, no clocks ticking them toward obligations. Just the distant whisper of water and the low glow of ambient lanterns, flickering like little stars.
Celes dipped her toes in first, flinching just a little before slipping into the warmth with a hiss of satisfaction. The water embraced her like a secret. She leaned back, shoulders sinking just beneath the surface, hair tied up in a messy knot. Amber slid in beside her, graceful and slow, the water rippling around her curves.
“Not so bad, right?” Amber murmured, her voice barely above the bubbling of the spring.
Celes tilted her head, eyes half-lidded. “You win. It’s better than debugging three hours of someone else's garbage code.”
Amber laughed — a low, warm sound that curled under Celes’s skin. The steam cloaked them in a veil, blurring the edges of the world until it felt like they were the only two people alive.
They moved closer, thighs brushing beneath the surface. Neither of them mentioned it.
Celes exhaled slowly, water lapping gently against her collarbone. She turned toward Amber, finding her gaze already locked. There was a quiet there — a knowing — and in that silence, they leaned in.
The first kiss wasn’t planned. It never was with them.
It was soft. Gentle. The kind of kiss that bloomed slow, unfolding like steam rising from the spring. Amber’s hand slid to Celes’s neck, thumb brushing her jaw. Celes melted into it — against her — lips parting with a quiet sigh.
The heat between them wasn’t just from the water. It simmered under their skin, in every lingering touch. Celes’s hand moved to Amber’s thigh, fingers dragging just under the waterline. Amber gasped softly, leaning into her, their kisses deepening, pulling — wanting.
They broke just long enough to breathe.
Celes pressed her forehead against Amber’s, noses touching, their chests rising in rhythm.
“You planned this, didn’t you?” she whispered.
“You needed it,” Amber replied, lips brushing hers again.
Their mouths met once more, but this time there was no holding back. Celes shifted, pulling Amber into her lap, the water swirling around them. Her hands roamed freely now — over damp skin, up Amber’s back, down to the curve of her hips. She kissed a path along Amber’s neck, tasting the steam, the salt, the need.
Amber’s fingers tangled in Celes’s hair, pulling slightly, guiding her lower. Celes didn’t resist. She sucked gently at the hollow of her throat, then lower, teeth grazing just enough to leave her mark.
“Cel…” Amber moaned, barely audible.
That name, in that voice, undid her.

Their fingers intertwined. The lantern light flickered, catching the sheen on their skin, the soft curve of satisfied smiles. They didn’t need to leave. The onsen was theirs tonight, and the world could wait.

Leave for a few days and come back to a beautiful work of art in the making. 😊 I like the premise and presentation of these two roommates. How one feels the built up tension and stress of her roomy and her need to relax and release. It starts off slow and supple… as if a juicy peach waiting for the first bite, then it picks up the pace and quickly becomes devoured. The illustrations of the encounter are beautiful touch to their actions. Small deliberate details… a tug, pull, kiss, guide🥰 …each draw you further in to the moment of Cel and Amber, wanting to just observe their intimate interactions with one another. It would have been beautiful to see their after glow affection for one another. What I like is, this is not a love story, but a friendship that recognizes the emotional and physical relationship to sexually and intimately unwind in such a way that helps one another. What are are great friends for!? 😋 the artwork is amazing, and I’m sure this bath has not seen the end of Cel, Amber, and/or Raven. 😉
