TSFB - Chapter 8: Leftovers

I've been holding onto this chapter for a little while now for a few reasons. Mostly, I was having a pretty hard time with Chapter 9, where I finally get to figure out who Lexi is after everything that happened, and she is finally left to her thoughts.
I thought, going in, I had a good idea of what I wanted to do... but after writing it I wasn't happy with how it turned out, so I kept trying new things until I found the right approach.
I believe I'm finally happy with where she wound up, though.
Also, I wasn't planning on this being two separate chapters when I began. It was going to be one really large one. But the first bit wound up ending in such a good place on its own that I had to split it there, and because of that it's a rather small comic compared to the next one.
While it's been a bit of a challenge figuring out exactly what I wanted to do with this next chapter, I've really been enjoying the process of creating the art for and writing it. I'm excited to get it into your hands, but it's not all ready yet.
Chapter 8 is, however, it's just... Well, I sort of wanted to release these two chapters together, and I didn't expect that Chapter 9 would be such an effort to figure out. As I said, I thought I was coming in with a plan and everything...
I should've said something but IDK... I get scared when I don't have something good to share that feels like it's been worth the wait. It's one reason I've been hanging onto Chapter 8. I didn't feel like it was large enough to share on its own after all this time you guys had to wait.
I guess it felt like it'd be better received if I shared something bigger? I'm not sure what I'm thinking, but anxiety overwhelms me with this stuff sometimes and I try to just shut it all out and stay the course, until I have something I'm truly proud of...
But it's dumb, I should've shared this with you sooner and I'm sorry. But here it is, chapter 8.
This chapter is the final scene of Lexi's first day in the lavish Passion Manor, and everything that it entailed.

Note: Chapter 9 is soon to follow and it's much larger, but I don't want to make an offer of when that should be, as I often curse myself and make everyone angry. The art is done (save any extra pages that may be needed) and the first of three scenes has been completely written, so I hope it won't take too much longer... I don't like waiting for this stuff to be finished any more than you guys do!
And I plan on getting a few chapters out this month, now that I know where I want to take the story from here, so this is just an appetizer for what's to come.
I've also been slowly working on Silk Chains, but it's on the backburner until I can get through at least Chapter 11 of this story.
In the meantime, thank you all for your support and putting up with my lousy communication.
I never know what to say when some projects aren't working out and I have to shift gears, especially not in a post here, which is why I try to lean on discord as it's more of a casual place to share updates. I realize now that many of you don't wish to use it for some reason, so I'll try to figure out a method of communication here that doesn't get in the way of my content timeline. Until then, I expect my next post here will be Chapter 9 of this comic.
