It's Friday and it's time to review the events of the past week!
[1] MAPPING FOLLOW-UP GRAND UTOPIA
Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel
Finally! I can report a real breakthrough in the mapping of Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel 😁 The historic district, which includes the Trameri company, is 100% finished and that's great news. You could already see some pictures on the Discord, on Facebook or on my Instagram account but you can also see them in the gallery of this post.
The historic part of the city is made up of relatively narrow cobbled streets, sometimes one-way, sometimes lined with parked cars, etc. They are not as narrow as in Malterre, but they will give you a few cold sweats, especially if you have a load that is outsized. 😄
In terms of optimisation, I really did the best I could. The city must have no less than fifty Cut Planes but some locations are still greedy and cause FPS drops. I'm sorry about that! I'll really have to plan my cities in advance from now on. Especially since I'm starting to master Cut Planes and Visibility Areas (a tool that allows you to activate or deactivate the display of other items in a predefined area).
At the time of writing, I still have to finish the northern entrance to the town (where the famous roundabout with the miniature town is located) and the scenery around National Road 4 (north and south).
I hope to meet the deadline and release the beta version of v1.15 (v1.14.8) by the end of January.
[2] NEXT VERSIONS
I would like to take this opportunity to talk in more detail about the release of the next version so that everything is clear to everyone.
Version 1.15 will be the public version available for download on TruckyMods. This version will be released about a week after the release of the beta version 1.14.8. The content will be identical but releasing a beta version before the final version will allow me to fix the remaining bugs that you will have reported to me.
Also, I'll take advantage of this week's break to edit a new video trailer of the map. The last one was made for the release of v1.12 😮
And I remind it for the newcomers, the beta versions of Grand Utopia are accessible to all the members of Patreon.
[3] COMMUNITY MANAGER AND 1ST PHOTO COMPETITION
This week, in collaboration with your new Community Manager and Moderator, a first event was organised on the Discord. It's a small photo contest that will allow the winner to see his or her picture integrated into the mod, on the loading screens.
For your information, I am thinking of repeating this type of competition with each new version. This will allow the photo of a small utopian to be put forward regularly.
And to speak more in detail about the Community Manager called cxr, he is in charge of the organization of events, games, convoys, etc. All this in order to make our beautiful utopian community more alive 😁 If his trial period is conclusive, a more official presentation will be made on the different social networks.
[4] PERSONAL THOUGHTS
I went to see the website statistics this week out of curiosity. In 2022, the site recorded 178,593 visits for a total of 620,404 pages consulted. And since the beginning of this new year 2023, already 9 063 visits have been recorded, it's crazy!
And I wanted to thank you (again). Our numbers are growing and it's just amazing. Our Patreon family surpassed a new record this week with 169 active members! So, simply, thank you for your support 😍
Oh and I got a new truck! Thanks Vuzz Voom for the engine+gearbox mod 😁

Bonjour chers Patrons,
Nous sommes vendredi et il est l'heure de passer en revue les événements de cette semaine passée !
[1] POINT MAPPING GRAND UTOPIA
Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel
Enfin! Je peux vous rapporter une réelle avancée au niveau du mapping de Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel 😁 Le quartier historique, qui comporte l'entreprise Trameri, est terminé à 100 % et c'est une excellente nouvelle. Vous avez pu dores-et-déjà apercevoir sur le Discord, sur Facebook ou sur mon compte Instagram quelques photos mais vous pourrez également les voir dans la galerie de ce post.
Le quartier historique est donc composé de rues pavées relativement étroites, parfois à sens unique, parfois bordées de voitures en stationnement, etc. Elles ne sont pas aussi étroite qu'à Malterre mais elles vous donneront quelques sueurs froides, surtout si vous avez un chargement sortant des dimensions standards 😄
Au niveau optimisation, j'ai vraiment fait du mieux que je pouvais. La ville doit comporter pas moins d'une cinquantaine de Cut Planes mais certains endroits sont toujours gourmands et provoquent des chutes de FPS. J'en suis désolé ! Il va vraiment falloir que je planifie mes villes à l'avance désormais. D'autant que je commence à bien maîtriser les Cut Planes et les Visibility Area (outil permettant d'activer ou de désactiver l'affichage d'autres items dans une zone prédéfinie).
À l'heure où j'écris ces lignes, il me reste à finir l'entrée nord de la ville (zone dans laquelle se trouve le fameux rond-point avec la ville miniature) et les décors autours de la route nationale 4 (au nord et au sud).
J'espère tenir le délai annoncé et vous publier la version beta de la v1.15 (la v1.14.8) d'ici la fin du mois de Janvier.
[2] PROCHAINES VERSIONS
J'en profite pour aborder plus en détail la sortie de la prochaine version pour que tout soit bien claire pour tout le monde.
La version 1.15 sera la version publique téléchargeable sur TruckyMods. Cette version sera publiée à peu près une semaine après la publication de la version bêta 1.14.8. Le contenu sera identique mais publier une version bêta avant la version définitive me permettra de corriger les bugs qui restent et que vous m'aurez remonté.
Aussi, je profiterai de cette semaine de battement pour monter un nouveau trailer vidéo de la map. Le dernier en date a été fait pour la sortie de la v1.12 😮
Et je le rappelle pour les nouveaux arrivants, les version bêta de Grand Utopia sont accessible à tous les membres du Patreon.
[3] COMMUNITY MANAGER ET 1ER CONCOURS PHOTO
Cette semaine, en collaboration avec votre nouveau Community Manager et votre Modérateur, un premier évènement a été organisé sur le Discord. Il s'agit d'un petit concours photos qui permettra au vainqueur de voir son cliché intégré au mod, au niveau des écrans de chargement.
Pour votre information, je pense renouveler ce type de concours à chaque nouvelle version. Cela permettra de mettre régulièrement en avant la photo d'un petit utopien ou d'une petite utopienne.
Et pour parler plus en détail du Community Manager dénommé cxr, il est justement en charge de l'organisation d'évènements, de jeux, convois, etc. Tout cela afin de faire rendre plus vivante notre belle communauté utopienne 😁 Si sa période d'essai est concluante, une présentation plus officielle sera faite sur les différents réseaux sociaux.
