Hello dear Patrons,
It's Sunday and it's time to review the events of the past week!
[1] Mapping follow-up
No great progress this week, I was very busy with my work and I couldn't map enough to present you with several new pictures of Akokan Island. Work has progressed a little bit in Port-Meli.
I think I'll be able to tackle the city centre in the coming week. Look out for several new exclusive photos soon!
Clearly I underestimated the time it would take to create this addon. I thought I could publish it in only two versions but there will be more. I'll publish a first version which will include mainly the city of Port-Meli and some dirt roads in the direct vicinity.
Indeed, I don't want to rush the construction of the city to attack the famous narrow and difficult paths as soon as possible. I promise, your wait will be rewarded!
[2] New YouTube series
In the spirit of helping those who want to map to better understand how the SCS editor works, I had the idea of creating a new video format for my YouTube channel called "Let's Do Some Mapping".
These videos will show some of my mapping sessions but at real speed and without comments. This way you can follow the construction in real time and better see how I proceed to do this or that in the editor.
A first episode was released on Friday morning, for which you have early access until 9am this morning, when the episode will be made public.
[3] Development of the map editor manual
This week I also made some progress on the SCS Map Editor manual. I started editing the 4th sheet which presents the editor in its entirety. You will find a lot of information about the tools and functionalities with a short explanation for each one.
I know that there is a significant number of non-French speakers among our Patreon Family and I am not forgetting them. This manual will be translated into English to be accessible to as many people as possible. I'm just waiting to finish writing the first sheets related to the first steps with the editor (setting up/opening/overall description). I only have one small section left to write in French to finish this part (quite dense in information I admit) before moving on to the translation.

Nous sommes dimanche et il est l'heure de passer en revue les événements de cette semaine passée !
[1] Suivi mapping
Pas de grandes avancĂ©es cette semaine, j'ai Ă©tĂ© beaucoup pris par mon travail et je n'ai pas pu mapper assez pour vous prĂ©senter plusieurs nouvelles photos d'Akokan Island. Le travail a tout de mĂȘme avancĂ© un petit peu au niveau de Port-MĂ©li.
Je pense pouvoir attaquer le centre-ville la semaine qui arrive. Attendez-vous prochainement Ă plusieurs nouvelles photos exclusives !
Il est clair que j'ai un peu sous-estimé le temps que me prendrait la création de cet addon. Je pensais pouvoir vous le publier en seulement deux versions mais il y en aura plus. Je publierai une premiÚre version qui comportera principalement la ville de Port-Méli et quelques chemins en terre situés à proximité directe.
En effet, je n'ai pas envie de presser la construction de la ville pour attaquer au plus vite les fameux chemins étroits et difficiles. Promis, votre attente sera récompensée !
[2] Nouvelle série sur YouTube
Toujours dans l'optique d'aider ceux qui souhaitent mapper à mieux comprendre comment fonctionne l'éditeur de SCS, j'ai eu l'idée de créer un nouveau format de vidéos pour ma chaßne YouTube baptisé "Let's Do Some Mapping".
Ces vidéos présenteront certaines de mes sessions de mapping mais à vitesse réelle et sans commentaires. Ainsi, vous pouvez suivre la construction en temps réel et mieux voir comment je procÚde pour faire telle ou telle chose dans l'éditeur.
Un premier épisode a été publié vendredi matin, pour lequel vous disposez d'un accÚs anticipé jusqu'à ce matin à 9h00 ; heure à laquelle l'épisode sera rendu public.
[3] DĂ©veloppement du manuel pour l'Ă©diteur
Cette semaine, j'ai également pu avancer sur la rédaction du manuel du SCS Map Editor. J'ai commencé l'édition de la 4e fiche qui présente l'éditeur dans sa globalité. Vous pourrez donc y retrouver beaucoup d'informations quant aux outils et fonctionnalités présents avec, pour chacun, une courte explication.
Je sais qu'il existe une part non nĂ©gligeable de non-francophone parmis notre Patreon Family et je ne les oublie pas. Ce manuel sera traduit en anglais pour ĂȘtre accessible au plus de monde possible. J'attends simplement de finir la rĂ©daction des premiĂšres fiches relatives aux premiers pas avec l'Ă©diteur (mise en place/ouverture/description globale). Il ne me reste qu'une petite section Ă rĂ©diger en français pour terminer cette partie (assez dense en informations j'avoue) avant de passer Ă la traduction.
