Evolution of Noelle's Design
🕑 Added 2022-10-23 20:07:02 +0000 UTCI'd been doing some file organization today and found Noelle's very first concept sketch so I wanna share some changing points in her design over the year.
The first sketch was from August 2021, I don't think I posted this anywhere. It was just to visualize my idea of her on paper. You might notice that she wears the full ranger outfit in this one, which is a popular look for Courier Six, but I quickly decided against it because the medium armor looked too heavy on her.
The second one was the first time I actually drew her around October 2021. Her design hasn't changed much since then, a simplified reinforced leather armor with red beret and the ranger duster half-cape.
The third image was from December 2021, which was when I started to draw other companions, most often Boone, and I wanted to coordinate their color schemes to make them look nicer together. That resulted in some change in Noelle's hair and outfit color toward more warmer tones.
The forth one was very recent, around September this year. There hasn't really been any big change to her design, but my art style changed a lot and I'm really happy to have shifted into this style. I'm also a lot less strict with how I draw her hair. I prefer the flowy quality of it overall.
And bonus, some failed experiment. I tried to make a turning animation with different angles from an assortment of her art, but it didn't come out that smooth and I'm afraid it might cause dizziness, so I'm only sharing it here. :'3

Ya I agree, I thought you were sharing stages in her life, Young to current Noelle. I thought, "Flash back moments in the wasteland!" But this is freaking awesome!!! Thank you for sharing her development process over time. AND the 360 vid, it can't get any cooler! ๐คฉ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐คโจโค๏ธโ๐ฉน (Bandage heart is for Noelle, she's always in bandages ๐คญ)

I saw that too while making this xD. Definitely on me. I struggled to convey a characterโs age with my old sort of chibi art style. Itโs still kinda cute but not suited for storytelling.

It is funny because It give the impression that she aged a bit like from teenager to adulthood.. Am I the only one to see it like that ?
