Conan O'Brien Hosting the Oscars

Conan is one of the few who may not have his finger on the pulse per se, but he at least gets it. I have mad respect for him, and I am a big fan.

I haven't watched the Oscars since I was rooting for La La Land to win Best Picture. After that, I stopped caring and I'm glad after hearing how it's become even more cringe. I've recently discovered The Awards Contender on YouTube who covers this kind of stuff and he's cool. He's very passionate about film and doesn't resort to dumb jokes, sketches, or clickbaity videos. I recommend his channel if you're interested in Oscar history and politics.

Here’s hoping for the string dance … and Andy Richter making an appearance. Aside from that, I couldn’t care less about the Oscars. They lost all relevance when they implemented a bunch of rules that essentially embraced mediocrity. That along with the self-important political speeches that made me want to gag. Who do they think they’re impressing in their fantasyland bubble they all live in?! But Conan is a much better choice for host. A whining dog would have been a better host than Kimmel. I can’t believe that guy used to host The Man Show. He seems to have left his sack with that show.

I’ve always loved Conan a step above the other comedians. He is very smart, kind, charming, naturally funny, and comes across as a genuine person. As a longtime diehard fan of The Simpsons, his contributions to the show’s early years as a writer is very special to me. I’m so glad he’s hosting over creeper Kimmel.

He's certainly the most tolerable late night talk show host when compared to Kimmel, Fallon & Oliver. I'm not huge on late night shows but it's certainly an improvement.
