I agree. I would personally go with Mikey Madison this year but I wouldn’t be upset if Moore won. It’s a bold genre film and much better than the biopic mush they repackage year after year. But at the same time, the Academy might wait 25-30 years and scramble to award Mikey for something like they are doing with Demi now. It’s an endless cycle.

Not surprised at all. Feels like the typical formula. Big Hollywood come back. Represents something that resonates with voters and audiences, in a film that was successful. Do I think it is deserved for this particular performance? That's another story. But oscars rarely are about that. It's more a career recognition.
