"So you're telling me there's a chance?" Jim Carrey is so brilliant, but "serious actor" Jeff Daniels was the total revelation! Jim fought the studio really hard to keep him instead of recasting with another comedian. Siskel and Ebert's review of this was quite funny too.

Love this film, to this day I still use 'Samsonite, I was way off!' as a catch all exclamation for some intellectual screw up. The sequel they made 20 years later is actually quite a bit of fun too.

One of the few Jim Carrey comedies I haven't and have no interest in seeing. I can enjoy silly movies if they're done without insulting my intelligence and don't rely on bathroom, stereotype, or Saturday morning cartoon level humor which unfortunately a lot of comedies from that era relish in. I'd recommend Eight Legged Freaks if you want to see a good dumb movie from that time which is a satire and love letter to 1950s B movies. Also, Scarlett Johansson is in it when she was a teenager and in one scene she tases her boyfriend in the balls for trying to go all the way with her and later gets tied up by a giant spider.
