Having seen the whole X Trilogy, Pearl is heads above the other two entries in the series. MaXXXine being based around real events just felt lazy to me. That being said, I loved Kevin Bacon’s sleazy, homicidal PI. But the whole religious cult thing felt very been there done that and done it better. Did enjoy the gore in the video store though.

Lol...I'm really glad to see these results. It's what I feel too. Pearl is amazing.

I think both are pastiches, but Pearl to me felt way more inspired and genuinely interesting. I still like X but it felt way too much like a watered down version of Texas Chainsw Massacre
