I actually wish that the speech had remained ambiguous and less pointed. Now...I know that's not a popular opinion but...I think the instinct to specify a situation in the present is kind of counterintuitive to what the film is saying. Now...a lot of leftists probably think I'm a terrible person for saying that. I'm sure Brooey Deschanel would be devastated lol. But...it's just how I see it. I would've respected the speech far more had he made more of a timeless speech, that kept politics out of it. But...i'm not against it or anything. Free speech is free speech. Speak your truth., and I can have an opinion on it.
