So the casting of Walken was basically an inside joke since he was in Flatboy Slim’s music video for Weapon of Choice (which is a song that directly references Dune lol)

Watched it again today... on the biggest screen with the best sound.... I just don't understand how such a visually striking film, with solid action and special effects can be so boring to me... maybe because everything feels extremely condensed? I don't know... but amazingly well done... it's just so forgettable to me... the first one I plain did not like... I liked the second one a lot better but was still bored to tears....

I just saw your review... I agree with most of what you said... especially the beginning where you talk about volume one... completely on point... and I just agree with most of what you said... I just think Villanueve is capable of giving us that thing we crave or wanted this film to be... but he has to make it accessible just because of the nature of the production... being a high budget studio film... but I think I liked it even less than you did... but definitely a well made hollywood action sci fi... but not that special ... awesome review! Thank you!

I understand why people might dislike it, but the themes of nature, religious fundamentalism and Machiavellian politics makes it way more than just a typical Hollywood action sci fi movie.

Adored Dune: Part II, I was on the edge of my seat during the entire climax lol. But I can see why it isn’t for everyone. Also it’s interesting that Zone of Interest almost made me fall asleep and Anatomy of a Fall had my stomach in knots during the climax. We’re definitely on completely different wavelenghts when it comes to certain films
