You're Texan!! (Me too.) My first In-N-Out experience years ago was a letdown, but I really probably did it wrong. I grew up on Whataburger, and I surely don't dislike it, but I can see why In-N-Out is so popular. I just don't know what *the* thing to try is.

These burgers mean nothing in the UK, I have experienced neither. But I did recently experience S4 E4 of Stranger Things and that is true cinema - Fear, Tears and Audio Spectacularism in its finest form.

Whataburger also have pretty good milkshakes. And something about their chicken sandwich is great.

Stunningly awful... ha ha! JK... yes, it is beautiful... if only summer would show up. We've had chilly, rain, clouds, and oh... rain predicted all this coming weekend. I think it's actually going to hit 79 today.

What I remember back in 2014 or so when In-n-Out opened in Bedford (DFW), there were HUGE lines and a long wait. That went on for about a months or so.... having said that, when they opened a new Burger King on the coast in Florence, Oregon last fall, there were HUGE lines for that too... ha!

Crazy coincidence! In-n-Out should use that video as an ad lol. Anthony Bourdain was such a gem. I think the world needs him more than ever today

lol....that Anthony Bourdain video is precisely what got me to try it in the first place. I think it is the best endorsement for In-N-Out that has ever existed. Just play that video, and you will want to get it.

My dad and I used to get what they called a brown bag special when I was a kid at Sonic. Two burgers and fries for a good price.

yeah I mean...it's not a masterpiece. But for fast food I'm not looking for a masterpiece. I think it's solid, fresher than is typical, and with animal style, to me it sends it over the edge. That's the addicting aspect of it. Without I think it would be solid, but perhaps not addicting

interesting...I've never once experienced a wait at an in-n-out. But again...in Texas, I'm sure it's super different. I would never dream of eating the fries without the animal-style. That's crazy talk.

I've never had Whataburger so my comment is of little pertinent value, but I've always felt a pang of irony in In-n-out's misnomer of a name. Nowhere close have I experienced a food establishment with longer waits, with cars perpetually bleeding out into the streets and around the corner, taking up lanes of traffic. Every one I've seen in the San Francisco Bay Area and here in Los Angeles are like that. I don't care for their fries either. Something weird about their texture or consistency or something.

I’m a native Texan now living in Nevada. I’ve never been convinced of In-n-Out’s greatness. It’s a good burger, that’s it. It’s fine. I’ll happily eat it but rarely crave it. I grew up on Whataburger, and it’s definitely my favorite of the two. Much better fries, and I like the other burger options — patty melt, A1 burger, etc. But honestly, I’d rather have Fatburger than either.

Being originally from Oklahoma, I grew up on Whataburger and it's always solid, but I have to pick in-n-out after living in LA for 6 years. This is 100% based on burgers because in-n-out fries are trash without animal style. My perfect situation was to just get the burger and then get McD fries on the way home. I will say that I never had to wait for 30 mins in a Whataburger drive-thru like I regularly had to do with in-n-out.

Unfortunately, neither of them exist here in Michigan. I used to love Burger King the most as a kid but now my favorite is Sonic's. Melted cheese is what makes a great burger to me and they do it the best.

I lived in north Ft. Worth when In-n-Out came into the area. I thought they were okay, but Whataburger is preferred for me. Ironically, i had a dream sbout Whataburger last night! Ha ha! We don't have it in Oregon... Ugh. I'd go back to Texas in a heartbeat...

I’m originally from Texas but I’m also a traitor. Whataburger is really good but In-n-Out is on another planet. The great Anthony Bourdain called it his favorite restaurant in Los Angeles and no one ever called him out on it for good reason
