Exactly my experience. My love of Bob Saget was through Norm's love. And that's how I became a fan as an adult. But...I have to confess...I grew up on Full House. I've seen every episode multiple times. It's a bad show. I knew it even as a youngster. But it's very zeitgeist. Knowing just how naughty that trio of guys was behind the scenes...is part of the funny irony of it all.

I knew of Bob Saget less from Full House and more from his proximity to Norm Macdonald. When Norm died, I of course listened to all the people who knew him give tribute and share memories, but Saget was one of the ones who seemed positively devastated. He truly loved Norm and vice versa, and Norm didn’t seem like someone who made it easy to get close to. Knowing that and hearing what people have said about him the past few days, including John Stamos, Bob Saget was someone who loved people deeply even when it was difficult to do so. That’s the mark of a true friend and decent human being. RIP

Just read it. Very sweet. I knew they were friends still after working on that show, but I didn't realize they were that close.

As a kid, there was a lot of garbage that I liked but Full House was not one of them. Even my easily impressionable child mind that loved Fresh Prince, Family Matters, and even The Nanny hated this show but when you have a younger sister who takes her turn on the family TV, you're forced to sit through it time and time again. It never made me laugh and always irritated me. Hence, I never saw anything that Saget or any actors did afterwards. I never knew til years later that he was a raunchy comedian. Losing him sucked but I never was interested in him to be emotionally affected like I was with Sidney Poitier recently.

I can only hope I have the impact on one other person that Bob Saget had on John Stamos. The part where he talked about dying alive particularly hit me. Thanks for reminding me to check that out and also fuck you for reminding me to check that out 😭
