"Arrival" is nothing but boring, idiotic anti abortion polemic, disguised as a science fiction movie, chock full of scenes that don't make a lick of sense... "Sicario" is great, though. And "Prisoners" is a perfect movie, imo.

I never saw Sicario. I hate Arrival though. It's beautifully made. I just thought it was a terrible script. But after seeing Bladerunner 2049, naturally I was intrigued at the very least for his interpretation of Dune.

I'm just about Dune with Hollywood by now...............

I Dune care...

Looks good, but Dune was never about the visuals and action, it's great to see a better look and that will only enhance it, but this movie is going to make or break from the dialog and storytelling. Dune was always more like The Godfather than a typcial SciFi adventure. I have some really high hopes here from how I've seen Villaneuve handle that in Sicario and Arrival.

Yeah I'd say I agree with that. For sure I'd say I like his stuff. I'm not one of those people who worships the ground him and Damien Chazelle walk on....but I think he's a great choice for directing the film.

Oh yeah I agree with you. I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I think the art direction for this will be hard to top the Lynch version. And also, I always expect highly anticipated adaptations to always feel slightly off. But with that said, it's about what I expected, and I am intrigued and encouraged.

Hollywood is already dead in the water, so people won't really be paying attention to this film.

Love the book, the cast seems near perfect, Denis is a great director (I love his film 'Enemy' in particular,) and I will definitely be watching Dune. But somewhere deep down I feel like something is slightly off, like there is just a little bit of the tone of the book missing from the trailer or something. I probably just need an extra shot of spice to overcome it, fingers crossed.

I personally really like Denis’s approach to sci fi (loved 2049), and Denis usually is pretty good when it comes to sticking to source material while bringing out his own vision. I have faith it’ll be good. are you generally a fan of his or

Love the director, and visually it looks compelling. I've never seen the original. It doesn't look that great to me but still intriguing. If the "reviews" are good I'll see it.

I do that as well a lot of the time. But when it's a highly anticipated movie like this I tend to always watch. Plus I enjoy trailers. There is a major art to it that goes unnoticed by many. I have many favorite trailers from over the years.
Deepfocuslens
Yeah, same here.

Very encouraged. I can't say I'm more excited because my excitement is already pretty damb high but I felt more confident that this is going to match my admittedly high expectations.

I purposely avoid trailers for movies I know for a fact I’m seeing like Dune and I’ve seen the little teaser from last year so I’m just waiting for the actual film at this point. Have you seen the poster for Peele’s new film Nope?
