Female trouble has been a recent favorite of mine that I can’t help going back to. Yes it’s a gross and campy John waters movie and bad in a technical sense, but it’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen.

The Paddington movies have become comfort ones for me(especially the 2nd one) wholesome, funny with a lot of heart and sophistication. With great performances, just head and shoulders over most “family” films.

Definitely agree with Tyler in regards to Miyazaki films, in particular Kiki's. I also really enjpy to watch any of the three from The Cornetto Trilogy by Edgar Wright. Now this may only work for me because I've watched all of them so many times, also throw in Scott Pilgrim to that as well. Having seen each of those movies a countless number of times it's easy to just sit back a relax while watching them. Don't have to worry about missing anything because I obviously know all of the story beats inside and out. Yet I'll still find myself catching really small details every watchthrough, whether it be a small editing trick, or a side gag off in the background. Then there is always A Nightmare Before Christmas, I feel like it's difficult not to have a good time watching it.

I don't think it's appreciated by a lot of Miyazaki's adult fans because it is far less mature than Mononoke and less balls to the wall creative like Spirited Away. But I still put it in that tier of his movies cause I find the simplicity of it charming and actually find Kiki's character journey one of the most relatable and well realized of his canon.

Also Back to the Future is a big comfort movie for me. Not only does it give me that nostalgia hit cause I watched it as a kid SO much but I also think it's perfectly structured. I know there are certain feelings towards Zemeckis but for my money, this is far and away the best thing he's done. It perfectly balances sentiment, story and character.
