How do you think that film will evolve when Chinese cinema begins to overtake American cinema in production? Do you think that Chinese pop culture can have the global reach that American pop culture has had?

Do you have any memorable first viewings of a movie that shaped you? Like seeing a great movie for the first time and remembering how it made you feel? I remember being a teenager and watching Chinatown for the first time and not seeing that devastating ending coming. Like just about everyone else, I was so used to growing up with movies that give you that conventional happy ending, the idea of everything falling apart for Gittes at the end, never crossed my mind as a possibility. As a result, it's definitely a movie that has stuck with me over the years.
