SOUNDS OF METAL
🕑 Added 2021-04-01 04:16:31 +0000 UTCI'm starting to sound like a one-trick pony here but...it pissed me off. I watched it twice to clarify my stance on it. XD American movies lately have really been so disappointing. I'll review it soon.

Is there anywhere to watch this other than Amazon Prime? I try to avoid Amazon whenever possible.

Lol I've never heard of a majority of the films you discuss. 😬🤷🏻♂️

After 2019 when we were blessed with so much, I guess we did kind of need a breather year especially considering the pandemic.
Deepfocuslens
Haha that's literally the only movie that would be on it XD

You should also include David Byrne's American Utopia on that short list

2020 was a down year

Sounds like 2020 wasn't the year for you when it comes for movies. Honestly you should make a Best of 2020 video and it's just I'm Thinking of Ending Things.

That's interesting and opposite to my impression. Film uses its manipulation techniques to makes you identify with main character and I think it works well. You can't be a witness, in a way. I had impression it try to teach you to appreciate little things in life. To find inner peace in yourself. Ending was spiritual and beautiful. It moved me deeply. New movies are often disappointment for me but this one I really like. Can't wait for your review.

Agreed. Everything is far too safe. Art should challenge, provoke. But no, progressivism has become compliance, ironically. I long for the days when movies like Freaks (1932) could be made.

I long for great cinema, seems like every movie that’s made now is too politically correct and safe.

You really need to review Snyder's Justice League!

That's three indie films in a row. I haven't seen any of them so I don't know but are they starting to lose it now?

I really resist the political angles if I can but...yeah, it suffered from it's own need to preach a sense of "wokeness" through its conceits, without understanding what it means to be truly freed of weakness.
Tony Moro
Too political. That's why.

Lol, I liked it quite a bit. I'll be curious to hear what about it upset you
