I agree with you but. I tried to reserve judgement about the first half as it was going but I pretty much had bad vibes from the opening dialogue. Everything was just so poorly written.

I'll review it. But...mainly that it glorifies villany for the sake of being cinematic. It wants us to sympathize with a character who deserves none whatsoever. And above all, it thinks it's clever, but it's poorly written.

It was a good setup — amoral character doesn’t realize who she’s getting involved with — with a horribly executed second half and tacked-on finish. I enjoyed the first half, then couldn’t believe how far it got off the rails.

It’s hard watching a movie when you hate almost every character. Dianne Wiest was the only one I liked and she was hardly in it. Just not enjoyable.

It was extremely dark and twisted. It's not the greatest movie ever but overall I thought it was not bad. I think the ending redeemed the film given that nearly every main character in the film is a despicable sociopath.
