Yeah, I mean, that's part of the character of course. But, the way it comes off is to me really over the top and lame. I don't like the performance at all.

Yeah. Though for me I go so far as to say, I am not a fan of Hannibal Lecter or Hopkins and his portrayal of him. It felt hammy, and as if it belonged in an entirely different film.

Yes indeed!! He was basically the main killer anyway. Hannibal was intimidating but Buffalo Bill made you feel VERY uncomfortable!!

"Goodbye, Horses" plays in the background, he applies his lipstick, tucks his penis in between his legs, says "I'd fuck me" lol Agreed. I think the sexual proclivities of Buffalo Bill play a role in making him a more terrifying character. There's a psycho-sexual element to his madness. The fact that he wears the skin of slain females in an attempt to make himself appear female really conveys some severe issues with his identity that makes him more fascinating (and terrifying) than simply being a cannibal (though Lector is quite terrifying as well- that intense stare he has is very terrifying).

They're both fantastic but Bill is definitely the more realistic killer. Hannibal is more like a James Bond villain with cannibalism but still effective.

For sure. Hannibal also had a certain civility to him whereas Buffalo Bill felt a lot more unpredictable. Plus the guy WEARS humans. That's way grosser and more unnerving than eating them.
