I'm gonna start with US by Jordan Peele, then perhaps HOUSE (70s Japanese horror film). I'll likely throw another one in there for good measure. Likely a Lynch film. Haven't decided yet. What do ya'll think? Oh and, let's try and keep this info exclusively on Patreon. Can't reveal all the secrets, can we? ;)

Oh wow, that's cool! I definitely think there's a LOT to dig into about the film subtextually, so it makes a lot of sense to do a paper on it and the source material. Truman Capote added such a potent layer of sexual repression that makes the film that much more unsettling. All that great writing, air-tight pacing that creates an unrelenting atmosphere of dread, and some of the most gorgeous cinemascope images ever. A true masterpiece IMO, and my favorite Gothic Horror of all time.

Haha actually, I did a huge research/analysis project on The Innocents in college before graduation. Dealt with both the book and the film. Though I don't think I've seen the movie since. However, I do own it somewhere.

Would love to hear your thoughts on The Innocents! Especially with the Haunting of Bly Manor mini-series coming out soon, there's no way that series can compare to Truman Capote + Jack Clayton's adaptation of The Turn of the Screw.

That movie has aged so wonderfully in terms of its look. I always wonder if we would even have Tim Burton as we know him without that movie in particular.
