I think the thumbnail is a good idea. It's a popular thing people do with certain topics. They'd post a thumbnail and then put a zip file for the whole set as a link so there's less things to load on screen. Patreon also downsizes images too. What I've been doing is right clicking and opening image in new tab to get better quality.
