JANUARY UPDATE 1/2 Koishi Project
🕑 Added 2024-01-15 08:38:50 +0000 UTCHey guys!! This is part one of the January update this month! This post will be all about plans for the Koishi project and how it's progressing so far, the errors that I've encountered and animation requirements that I will need to tackle.
I am behind on schedule due to both organizing with Webtoons on "I Was Born To Work Retail" and personal animation burnout. The pace will be picked up again soon! I will have to make up for lost time with some extra work this month and the next month.
Ironically, the Koishi Project when it was planned back in April, even though it had no set deadline, in my naivety I expected to be finished by the end of 2023 ( I fucking wish). Now I'm going to have to make more revenue from "I Was Born To Work Retail" to support this animation project. Hopefully with the Patreon money as well, I will be able to hire an in house colorist for my animations permanently, but at this point it's going to take some time.
Hopefully this project will be done this year. At the current pace, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just have to be diligent with my time and balance it with "I Was Born To Work Retail".
Koishi's persona doesn't need any fine tuning, though Sanae right now is looking a little bland. I hope to put more character into Sanae and make her seem like less of a prop. This may include some little motions like looking at butterflies, or twiddling her fingers.
Currently most of the backgrounds in S2 are all being rendered and will be finished very soon. A lot of the backgrounds here can also be repurposed for closeup shots of the characters. If you pay attention to some of the scenes, you can see me reuse some of the previous day backgrounds with a gaucassian blur on them.
My issue right now is compositing. Once all of this is in order. I will be able to repurpose and composite a lot of the lighting in Adobe After Effects. If you like the lighting now though then that's an extra plus!
As you can see a lot of the action right now is quite complicated and it involves acting with two characters. This will slow down in S5 and S6 where the song slows down for the chorus. Less frames in the future, but more empthasis on subtle acting. Right now im building up to the climax where Koishi cuts her eyes out, so everything here is much more rapid and fast paced.
Thank you all for donating again!! I'm so happy to just vent my thoughts out in these posts and I would love to hear your thoughts on how you guys feel the project is heading right now.
All files will be released at the end of this month in the next post! If you wanna collect them or something, or check out my animation process.
See you alll in the next update this month! Focused on "I Was Born To Work Retail"!!
