Chapter 27 Put Batman in Arkham
🕑 Added 2025-10-12 14:13:27 +0000 UTCUnder hypnosis, the prison guards accepted that "Connors was sent by Batman." So, when it was time for yard time, Connors sat on the concrete floor, talking and laughing with the Joker and the others like they were good buddies.
Based on the idea of "bold assumption, careful verification," Connors casually told them the story of Bane and Batman's recent "Battle of the Broken Back."
"You guys took turns to cause trouble, exhausting Batman, and then Bane took action to defeat him. Killer Croc has not made any movement until now. Could it be that he is digging a hole for you down there?"
"No, no, no, brother, you guessed it wrong!" The Riddler was the first to cry out that Bane was not in their plans at all.
The Scarecrow nodded. "You guessed half right."
The Joker licked the scar on the corner of his mouth, looking indifferent. "According to my plan, laughing gas, fear gas, and gunfire would take turns to cleanse Gotham. Batman would indeed be exhausted from this, but Bane was not in the plan."
"Why?" Connors didn't understand. Bane was incredibly strong; even with his own physical fitness raised to the human limit, he knew he couldn't compare. It wasn't reasonable to leave such strong combat power unused.
"Although that guy looks like a big brute, he has more thoughts in his head than muscles… Man, why don't you cooperate with me?" The Joker was, ignoring his appearance, the most normal one among them. He kicked the Penguin, who wanted to talk, aside, and his expression suddenly changed from normal to crazy.
"How about we team up to get Batman in here?"
"Think about it! Isn't he more like a madman than I am? A man who always moves in the dark, wears a strange bat coat, speaks in a deliberately low voice, and always sends me here knowing Arkham can't shut me down?"

Connors gave the Joker a thumbs-up on the spot. "Brilliant, Ugly! How do I need to cooperate?"
"Quite simply, you just…" The Joker laughed and was about to reveal the plan to let Connors die, but the guy actually got up and left, choking the words back down his throat.
Laughing gas, fear gas, and gunfire take turns to cleanse Gotham, making Batman unable to stop. Then Killer Croc helps them escape from prison, and then they use their backhand to defeat the exhausted Batman and imprison him in Arkham Asylum. Connors walked toward the exit of the yard, simulating the Joker's plan in his head. But Bane was out of the plan and got to him first, and the Riddler had no effect in the action… Maybe because I tied him up before he could perform. But there's a possibility that old brat had another scheme.
Amid the nervous gaze of the guards, Connors walked near the exit, confirmed the safe distance, and turned to the Joker, saying, "Ugly man, the plan is wonderful, but as you said, Bane does have many ideas—he successfully defeated Batman with the help of your plan."
"Also, you guys stay away from that." He pointed to where he and the villains were sitting just now. Before he could finish speaking, the entire cement floor was lifted up, soil splashing everywhere, and a terrifying roar came from the ground.
Killer Croc!
His grayish-green, rough skin was covered with scales of varying sizes. Although he still looked humanoid, he was closer to a crocodile in both face and body. From his head all the way to the huge tail dragged behind him, three or four rows of raised scales were like serrations, combined with the sharp teeth in his huge crocodile mouth. He was like a great beast.
Damn… Connors looked at the Killer Croc that had emerged from the ground. He was nearly two and a half meters tall, no less than Bane's size. He began to wonder how Batman had ever sent this beast to Arkham in the first place.
Sirens rang through Arkham Asylum. After Killer Croc got out of the ground, the prison guards started shooting wildly, but the bullets made a tinkling sound on his body, all of them blocked by his thick scales. Except for Batman's four main antagonists—the Joker, the Riddler, the Scarecrow, and the Penguin—the other ordinary prisoners fled. Also fleeing with the prisoners was Killer Croc himself.
"No, you worked so hard to get out of the ground just to escape under fire?" Connors couldn't read the situation. Was this to help the Joker escape from prison, or did he just come over to suffer? Killer Croc almost ignored the bullets, but at this point still seemed to have encountered something terrifying, frantically whipping the walls of the yard with his claws and tail.
The sky full of bullets passed by the Joker, who didn't care about Killer Croc's state. He ran madly through the rain of bullets to the big hole Croc had drilled out of, but the Penguin jumped into it first. Soon, the Joker, the Scarecrow, and the Riddler followed, ready to jump in and flee. Although the process had deviated, the result was still Killer Croc coming to help him escape. The Joker only needed to leave Arkham and re-customize his plan to send Batman to the asylum.
But the Penguin, the first to jump into the hole, quickly flew out again. He was accidentally wounded in the air by a bullet fired at Killer Croc and fell hard on the ground, splashing with blood.
Joker, Riddler, Scarecrow: "?"
Connors: "Hey, penguins can fly too?"
"Stop! Stop firing quickly!" On the firing tower high in the wall, the prison guards shouted loudly, and the rain of bullets stopped. All eyes wandered between the wall-smashing Killer Croc, the bloodied Penguin, and the deep pit on the ground.
Then, in full view of everyone, a timid little head protruded from the pit, with white hair tied into twin ponytails, with blue and red ends respectively. It was Harley Quinn.
Harley seemed to have been drilling underground for a long time. Her face was dirty, but this did not cover up her natural beauty, let alone the bright smile on her face. She leaped forward and greeted the Joker.
"Hi Mr. J Hey, everyone is here?" Her eyes swept over the Joker, and she saw the Riddler and the Scarecrow by the way. As for the Penguin lying on the ground, she ignored him outright.
"Harley Quinn! You charming little bastard! I knew you'd come—?" The Joker opened his arms, but before he could finish speaking, he watched Harley Quinn throw herself, body covered in dirt, into Connors's arms.
"Red! Why are you here~"
It took three full seconds before she jumped out of Connors's arms. She re-walked to the edge of the pit, bent down, and pulled hard. The soil splashed again as Harley Quinn pulled an oversized mallet from the ground and carried it on her shoulder, laughing at the Joker and the others.
"I am not here to save you! On the contrary, I am here to prevent you from leaving here!"
Meanwhile, Killer Croc finally knocked the wall down. Connors was stunned. He had come to advance the progress of the "Laughing Man" melon-eating incident. What was this little madwoman Harley Quinn here for?
Under the cover of Killer Croc, the three villains ran outside laughing. Harley Quinn was stupid for a moment too. "Oh no, I seem to have screwed it up…"
"What are you waiting for? Run!" Connors grabbed Harley Quinn and followed the Joker. It was definitely not easy to chase them. He took Harley around in a circle and planned to drive back to the apartment in the muscle car he'd parked outside.
Then…
"Where's the car?" Connors asked Harley.
Harley Quinn was dazed. "I thought it was the Arkham director's car… I used it to hit the door."
