EARLY ACCESS ~ TWILIGHT ECLIPSE
🕑 Added 2025-06-03 22:26:19 +0000 UTCTwilight: Eclipse (2010) is the cinematic equivalent of a moody teenager slamming their bedroom door and then writing 400 pages of bad poetry about it. It’s somehow the third movie in this saga of hormonal vampires and brooding werewolves, and by now, you’d think something—anything—would have happened. Instead, it’s more of the same: endless staring, dramatic sighing, and a love triangle with the chemistry of three damp sponges trying to emote.
This movie is supposed to be about a vampire-werewolf-human war triangle or some nonsense, but what it really is… is 2 hours of Edward, Bella, and Jacob fighting over who gets to protect a girl who has the emotional range of a loading screen. Kristen Stewart spends most of the film looking constipated with indecision, Robert Pattinson glowers like he just smelled wet dog for 117 straight minutes, and Taylor Lautner’s abs get more character development than he does.
There’s a subplot—if you can call it that—about a vampire army rising in Seattle, but it’s background noise to the main “action,” which involves Bella refusing to marry Edward, then deciding she will, but only if he turns her into a vampire… after graduation. Because that makes sense. There’s also the world's slowest romantic tent standoff, in which Jacob cuddles with Bella while Edward watches. It’s less "steamy" and more "court-mandated group therapy for emotionally stunted immortals."
The action scenes? Choppy and bloodless, like someone edited them on a toaster. The villain? Barely present. The dialogue? Weaponized cringe. “I’m hotter than you.” Yes, Jacob. We know. That’s why you're shirtless in a blizzard. Every line is either whispered like it’s a deathbed confession or shouted like a high school play gone off the rails.
Eclipse somehow manages to take werewolves, vampires, and teenage angst—and make all of them boring. It drags its feet through a plot that could’ve been resolved with a group text and ends with the same melodramatic whimper it started with. Nothing changes. No one grows. And the audience is left wondering if eternal damnation might be preferable to sitting through another one of these.
