EARLY ACCESS - CLUE (YT EDIT)
🕑 Added 2025-01-13 09:42:23 +0000 UTCClue (1985) is a comedic gem that’s only grown more beloved with every passing year, and it’s easy to see why. The ensemble cast is a veritable who’s-who of comedic heavyweights, each one bringing their own brand of zaniness to the table. Madeline Kahn’s deadpan genius still delivers some of the film’s most unforgettable one-liners, Michael McKean’s perfectly timed sarcasm keeps the banter razor-sharp, and Christopher Lloyd adds his trademark off-kilter energy that never fails to entertain. But Tim Curry—oh, Tim Curry—is on a whole other level as Wadsworth the butler. He pours so much manic glee and physical comedy into every second on screen that you can practically feel the movie’s momentum spike whenever he appears.
The real magic, though, lies in the writing and the fast-paced dialogue. Every conversation crackles with quick wit and snappy rejoinders, making each new round of accusations and revelations feel like a hilarious verbal tennis match. Meanwhile, the setting—a spooky mansion drenched in secrets—perfectly captures the spirit of the board game while giving the cast ample opportunity to scurry through hidden passageways and shriek over freshly discovered bodies.
And let’s not forget the multiple endings, a stroke of genius that adds yet another layer of playful mystery. Depending on which version you see, the killer could be any of the delightfully suspicious guests, and there’s something deeply satisfying about a movie that gleefully allows itself more than one definitive conclusion. It’s a testament to how Clue doesn’t just tolerate its own absurdity—it revels in it.
If you want a front-row seat to comedic alchemy, look no further. Clue has comedy, suspense, endless quotable lines, and Tim Curry at his absolute best—worth every cent of the ticket price and more. It’s a film that reminds you just how exhilarating it can be to get lost in a world of whodunits, wisecracks, and wild twists, no matter how many times you’ve already solved the mystery.
