Stern stars as Max Grabelski, a bumbling delivery man wrongly accused of murder who ends up on the run from the law. In a desperate attempt to escape, Max accidentally becomes the leader of a group of scout kids on a wilderness trip. Chaos, hijinks, and plenty of slapstick comedy ensue as Max tries to survive the great outdoors, dodge the authorities, and figure out how to clear his name—all while wrangling a bunch of overly enthusiastic kids.
Bushwhacked leans hard into its absurd premise, with Stern’s over-the-top antics providing nonstop laughs. Whether he’s fumbling through survival techniques or barely keeping his cover as an “expert guide,” Stern’s physical comedy is the heart of the film. The kids bring their own charm and mischief, giving the movie a fun mix of heartfelt moments and ridiculous gags. It’s an unapologetically goofy adventure that embraces its campy tone and delivers a feel-good romp through the wilderness.
